It looks like the reds have admitted something has happened after the 'dealt with internally comment'.

Let's face it footballers are thick.  They have obviously gone out on the lash with it being their last night and got rotten.

So it was Dudek, Fowler and Pennant.  Doubt any of the three of them will be there in August.

      Here's the full story:

Liverpool stars are alleged to have gone on an alcohol-fuelled rampage during a training camp last week in Portugal.

Goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, Jermaine Pennant and former England striker Robbie Fowler were named by local newspapers as being involved in a drunken spree at the Barringtons Golf and Health Club, in Vale do Lobo, on the Algarve, in the early hours of Friday morning.

Dudek, a hero of Liverpool’s Champions League triumph in Istanbul two years ago,was reported to have been handcuffed after the incident, which is alleged to have occurred at the end of a warm-weather training camp undertaken to prepare for Liverpool’s Champions League game in Barcelona on Wednesday.

A Liverpool spokesman said last night: "The matter will be dealt with internally."

The future of all three players will be in doubt if the allegations are shown to be true. But Pennant, whose troubled past includes a spell in prison for drunken driving, has the most to lose, with veterans Dudek and Fowler already likely to be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez was in nearby Vilamoura at the time of the alleged trouble. He will be disappointed with the claims against Pennant after he gave the player a chance to resurrect his top-flight career by signing him for £6million from Birmingham last summer.

The allegations will also make waves across the Atlantic, where the club’s new American owners, George Gillett Jnr and Thomas Hicks, are unlikely to be impressed at the tarnishing of Liverpool’s reputation on the eve of the next formal stage of their £450m takeover.

Local sources claim the trouble began at a bar called Monty’s, in Vale do Lobo, where about 15 members of the squad had gone for a drink after a team meal on the eve of their departure from Portugal.

After several rounds of beer, the party reportedly became rowdy and, despite the efforts of captain Steven Gerrard and England international Peter Crouch to defuse the situation, police were called.

Officers escorted the party back to Barringtons but trouble is said to have flared again. No one was arrested or charged but Dudek is alleged to have been restrained by police. It is understood that Barringtons reported only a broken glass and Liverpool are said to have agreed to pay for any damage.

The incident recalls the scandal of another sunshine trip by an English club, when a drunken night involving Leicester players in La Manga in 2004 ended in three of them being charged with sexual assault, a case which subsequently collapsed.

Although not as serious, the allegations against Liverpool could not have come at a more crucial time for the club.

Shareholders will receive a formal offer document in the morning from Kop Football Ltd, the Hicks/Gillett company bidding for the club.

Kop will then have a minimum of 21 days to agree a deal with the owners of 75 per cent of the shares, at which point they would be irreversibly committed to buying the club.

THIS is embarrassing.  LFC are NOT knownto go and behave in that fashion.  I'm telling you this has come at the most crucial time in our season and it's NOT GOOD. Pennant and Bellamy (small fish in a big pond - they should go in the summer), and what the hell was Dudek doing, and as for Robbie ???

Overpaid and over inflated egos.  Not good.

Oh bloody hell what is everybody whining about?
Don't forget they are only human and they have as much free will as we do.
Yes it was wrong for them to fo F**k off to some ponsey little place in Portugal for a F***ing drink and got completly bladdered out of their face's. But the only thing I can think about is if a footballer is seen drunk they are called every name under the sun. You have to look at things like the cricket players that on sky sports news (after the win of The Ashes) they all came out drunk and could hardly give a F***ing interview.
Yeah I know it was their last day up there but the game is on Wednesday.
Who cares if they wanted to go out and enjoy themselfs? GOD I HATE THE PRESS!

Yeah but they're not on their holidays, they're working and preparing for one of the biggest games of the season, bet no-one will make allowances if we lose on Wed !!  Anyone else gets drunk at work and they get fired !   ;)

      Good point that.

I thought the whole point of the trip was supposed to be training, preparation and "bonding", not a club 18-30 holiday. This doesn't sound like the right sort of bonding does it.. I would much rather have heard about them getting drunk and having a laugh (there's nothing too wrong with that!), than to hear a few of them getting a bit nasty. Just makes me wonder if one or two players have their priorities straight. They represent LFC anywhere they go, all the time (what an honour!!!!!)!! If it's all true, then they are letting the club, us fans and themselves down. Simple as that.
I don't know all the facts though and I'm hoping it's just all been blown out of proportion.

      Let's think:

I'm a rival fan, recognise a bunch of footballers having a good time, cause a bit of trouble. Who's likely to get the blame? Stir it all up by claiming to have seen things.

^ Yeah exactly. On SSN it said that Rafa said.. oh what was it.. well, action will be taken if anyone was found to be breaking rules.

Is going out for a night and getting a bit drunk breaking rules? Might be if they gotta train the next day?

As a person the works in the media world I can hazard a guess that a majority of this is crap... there is no smoke without fire and usually there is an element of truth in some of it! Reading between the lines the story was obviously taken from a local newspaper & remixed... riise & bellamy probably did have an arguement but no more than pushing and shoving and the press having hyped it up out of all proportion to sale newspapers! They were probably slightly rowdy in the bar & that was it... but that wouldnt make good reading would it! They disguise these lies by saying "sources said"... most people are far too intelligent to believe this hype.

The press, stations like talk sport & tv outlets such as sky sports news have to fill up their pages & airtime so they resort to gutter tactics like these... doesnt help that most of the media is based in London with most of them not being Liverpool fans.

Until a full investigation has taken place people are innocent till proven guility and if the reports are as bad as they say why wasnt anyone arrested or charged? There is major problems @ barca right now especially after they just lost 2-1 to Valencia and it wouldnt suprise me if this wasnt some how orchestrated from Barca front...

I hope for all the 5 players mentioned sake & for the sake of club and Rafa this isnt true... ten years after the whole "spice boys" bollocks we dont need these dark clouds over the club again...

they were drunk i bet they have apologized and have realized that they were drunk. the papers are going to say Bellamy did it because he is a hot head. who would believe it if the headlines were "GERRARD AND CROUCH BEAT CARRAGHER WITH GOLF CLUBS" ? that is right no one would and if this did happen i think the police would have said something by now. did anyone also notice the date of the card dirk kuyt sent to the liverpool website ? it was two days ago so things must not be going that bad.i think it was handbags between two drunk players and thing have been blown out of all proportion and if this is true risse will not play against barca and if he does he will have a bandage or something like it on his leg were Bellamy "hit" him and also Bellamy will not play against barca if this is true
