      Feb 22, 2007 12:58:53 pm
What can you say after last night's vintage performance,
How do you come down from such a high and prepare yourself for a game against Sheff Utd ??

Mrs Doubtfire brings his squad to Anfield on Saturday, and will probably use his only style of tactics of   if it moves - kick it.

I think Rafa will rest a few of his players for this one., in will come Pennant, Hyypia, Zendon and possibly Mascherano. (and hopefully Robbie)

      I'm going for a 2 - 0 win for the Mighty Reds.
      Kuyt 2.

and can smiggs finally score her first point on guess the points competition ??

i was always taught if it moves - kick it, if it doesn't move - kick it until it does!!

a big drop down to earth this, lets hope we can get our heads out of the clouds & knuckle down to a scrap! 1-0 us, Kuyt to scramble one in from 2 yards following a 23 1/2 yard drive from Gerrard fumbled by the keeper!

It's good to have a home game after that fantastic CL amazing victory. I agree with you guys, RAFA will probably rest a few players, Pennant to play with Zenden and yes it would be nice to see Fowler playing a whole game..but I think Crouch will be the one in front with Bellamy.

      3-0 for the reds...

We've got to get stuck right in to these. Teach them a good hard footballing lesson. Old witch-face's tactics will probably be to unsettle our players from the off - any means possible.
If we get an early first half goal, I'm hoping for 3 or 4 nil!!! As long as we get stuck in to them!

Good first half although Crouches head injury looks worrying.
First Pen probably shouldn't have been given but hey who's arguing, second goal deffo a pen. oh and for anyone not watching Mascherano is playing okay, just doing what hes been asked no frills but solid.

He got a bad kick on the head(ive never had a good kick in the head!) when we got the first penalty for the foul on Gerrard the game was delayed a while so he could be treated.. watching on Star sports and they haven't said how bad it is.

Just got back from the game, have to say well played lads, Mascherano had a very good debut - getting better, stronger and more confident as the game went on.
Fowler 2 accurate pens, tried too hard for his hat trick.
Gerrard had the freedom of the pitch and scored a good goal.
Nice to see big Sami on the scoresheet and the back line keeping yet another clean sheet.

The only dissappointing thing again is the atmosphere, I'm sorry but for those in the Kop - where are you ??

      14 / 1 for 4 - 0 so I'm very happy - ching ching.

Yeah, I was impressed with Mascherano. Thought he had a good debut and showed some quality in breaking things up. Looks like he doesn't panic when under pressure. A good player for next season.
Didn't look like the blades could live with us for most of the match, but there was a spell early on in the second half where I thought we might have been taking our foot off the pedal a bit. All in all a pretty comfortable win. I thought we'd score three or four.

Only wish I'd put my money where my mouth is like a wealthy mrtommo!!! The beers are on you mate!! ;) ;D

Main website probably won't get an update till tomorrow but we all know the score.  An impressive 4-0.  Fowler attempting a late surge at getting a new contract too !

Did anyone watch Match Of The Day tonight? Mr Witchface Warnock was on as a pundit and he got proper grilled after the highlights of our game because of what he said about Gerrard, "claiming" a pen! Was comedy!!!!!! It totally proved him as a the biggest moaner ever!
Fair do's to him though. When he was asked what he's learnt about the premiership since August. He said, "I've learned it's the place you want to always be. Going to great stadiums and hearing the fans.....you know, like Anfield and hearing You'll Never Walk Alone. Brilliant"

      He's not all that bad is he.......... ;) ;D :D :D :D

Did the Argie wonder boy help us win 4-0 or would it have happened anyway?

I'd like to know that too?  down here they showed Fulham v Man Scum ???, Charlton V West ham >:( then Watford v Bluenoses :(. Only got to see the Highlights show on Monday night :)...so saw the goals but don't really know who was best on ground and just wanted to know how Mascherano got on as well as Speedy. Did they have good games? Has anyone taped it on DVD and put it on ebay? as I'd love to watch it. :food-smiley-005: :cool-smiley-027:

Mascherano must of had a few words of advice from Rafa at half time because he came out in the 2nd half and took control of the midfield along with Ste Gerrard. He proberly did help us win 4 - 0 he kept things calm in midfield. Hope he stays longer than just 18 months

thanks for the info on the Argie boy genius....good to see that someone is going to give Alonso some competition...don't get me wrong..love Alonso...but too often goes missing in games or lacks focus...he's a  fantastic player but maybe JM is here for the longhaul and Rafa realises that XA maybe wanting a return to Spain?

don't know the answer to your questions Ra Ra Rafa, but I thought I read somewhere it was 10.5million pounds?? not sure......I must say thankyou for putting that youtube link on your post. I hadn't seen any of the game and was wondering how Mascherano got on. He seemed to be alright, breaking up the play on a few occasions and even went on a nice run from defense then thru the middle...if only he'd finished off with a killer ball to whoever was on his right flank.....but seems a good buy....hope he keeps it up..also got to see Rafa in a couple of interviews...brilliant.. so cheers  :ernaehrung004:Ra Ra Rafa.
