No what happened was I spoke to Torres and he told me we only play with one striker predominantly and he got that spot on lock, so if Owen return he is heading for the pine, predominantly.

You've lost me with your comments. Whats the pine?

8.52  Interesting line in The Guardian with regards Michael Owen. They reckon Manchester United are monitoring his situation carefully as they believe they could land the free agent on wages worth a piffling £40,000-a-week. With Karim Benzema off to Real Madrid and a lack of genuine alternatives, could Sir Alex turn to a player he was known to be keen on earlier in his career?

Ferguson is crazy now after saw the suitcase full of cash from Real! Don't know what to do with it. Want buy a free agent? Owen knows he shouldnt go there. If he goes to Manure, he better wear a bulletproof Manure shirt. Because I will be wait outside OT.

Everything about the wee Judas irritates me; from his voice right through to his misshaped napper. Owen back in Liverpool red? I hope not.

      Because nothing's been confirmed yet.

I want this thread to be locked as much as you do but we'll have to wait I'm afraid.

"On The Bench" is quite good.

      Three letters less.

      English.

      Simples.

ha ha compare the pine simples.........

Back on topic Michael Owen I'm not going to get drawn into this debate calling him a Judas etc, every one in life deserves a second chance (excluding Paedo's). Owen for me included. On merit of his goal scoring record the answer has to be yes. but on merit of his injury record the answer has to be No and this out weighs all the goals he has scored and my adulation for him as a former player.

Whats the point of having a back up striker who is more likely to spend as much time on the treatment table as Degen. The most likely scenario for me is when we need him most (If Torres was to get injured) is he will be on the treatment table most likely ruled out for half the season, then he's obviously of no use to us to do the job he was employed to do.

Now I am not going to pretend there is no chance a back up striker would get injured as its possible he would ffs Aurelio got ruled out until Christmas playing in the garden with kids. What I will say though is Owen carries a great risk to our title ambitions if employed as a back up striker as he carries an injury record as long as Robert Wadlow's right leg and the risk is greater of him not being able to provide cover when required. So why not look for a better alternative some one who may not be as clinical as Owen but some one who has a better injury record and can still get goals ?

I assume that's a joke. Owen is finished, despite what his brochure says. I think the link with Hull City is apt- he'll keep Jimmy Bullard company

There's been no recent links about the mighty reds being involved with a transfer for Owen. And now it looks pretty likely that he'll be joining one of our two biggest rivals. That's if he passes a medical of course....  :f_whistle:
