I might be going on my own but I will be with thousands of new mates when I get there 

Have to say though my emotions are all over the place now, one minute near hysteria with excitement then panic sets in about the logistics of getting there.

It's been a few years since I've been to Liverpool so can any of you tell me, will the soccer buses be running from Sandhills as it states on the official sight? and if not what's the parking like at the ground?

Parking not good. Not sure about the soccer bus, but if not you can just get a 14 down Breck Road and follow the red tide!

Mate your better just getting the train then taxi from City Centre thats your best bet mate. Sounds good should be a good game for your first ?

Sorry for being a pain but I like to be organised when I'm travelling.  BTW I will be driving in from Ormskirk area.

I was expecting you to be in town, so I was thinking you'd get it from opposite the Royal Court, which is right by a Liverpool FC store. We'll sort something out though. We won't let you get lost!

Ok peoples it's not long off this match and I need some input into the best way to get there.

As I've mentioned in earlier posts I'm coming in from the Ormskirk area so if I get the train from there do I come into town and get a bus out again or can I get a train nearer to the ground and walk.

I understand from Gow that if I get the bus from town it's the no.14 to Breck Rd.

Also I believe you meet at the The Cabbage before the game so what time usually are you all there and where is it as it's about 10yrs since I was last anywhere near Anfield.

Sorry again for being a pain but as a 50yr old female on my own and my first ever time watching the Mighty Reds at Anfield I don't want anything to spoil the fun.

It's £1.60 on the 14 and just tell the driver to give you a shout when you get there (The Cabbage I mean). You'll see millions of Reds outside. It's on Breck Road. We can arrange to meet up with you there, and just confirm nearer the time and swap mobile numbers in case you get lost or whatever. Does that sound OK?

I love the Cabbage, it's amazing how quickly you get served when theres like 5000 people in the bar & car park  (was that too excessive) NAH!!!!!!!!!

The bus stop where you get off the number 14 bus by the Cabbage pub, is outside a sunbed shop and by a funeral directors. On the opposite side of the road, there's a church with a very tall steeple, Debs.

The red arrow marks the bus stop you get off the bus.

Hi All, I'm coming up for the game (can't wait)!!  I'm leaving hubby at home and bringing a mate who's never been to Liverpool before, so we're going to set off early to spend the morning in town first.

Can anyone let me know where there's somewhere where we can park for the day without getting ripped off?

There are loads of side streets around Anfield to park, especially if you park a little way out and walk, which I prefer to do and mingle with all the fans on the way to the ground.

If not there are usually quite a few car parks changing about a fiver which isn't bad at all.

Thanks MsG, we'll look out for one of the car parks for a fiver, I hate parking in the side streets coz I'm never convinced whether I'm in permit spaces or not, and I don't want to get caught out!!
