Was hoping Luke turned to the dark side myself & Ray was the daughter of Luke...

Too late for that now though. Strange one.
Had all the feeling that Luke had gone to the Dark Side in the set up of  TFA.
I thought maybe he had turned and then Kylo had gone dark.
Maybe that's why he went into isolation etc and was wondering if that was where TLJ would go.
      Obviously it didn't.

      Saw 'Polar' the other night.

      The blurb goes:

"The world's top assassin, Duncan Vizla, is settling into retirement when his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he finds himself back in the game going head to head with an army of younger killers. "

Throw in the fact that Mads Mikkelsen is the main man, and it's really violent, thought this would be great.

But, it was a cartoon. Matt Lucas was the bad guy, and didn't work imho. Think its based on a comic book, and seems as much with the rainbow colours. I liked Sin City mind, so it's like I don't like a comic booky type thing -- just thought this was a bit on the crap side.

Mads is good though, but sure he makes drinking Carsberg look cool.

Started watching it, quit about a third of the way through. A yawner for me.

Seen it on tv a few years back but decided to rewatch In The Name Of The Father tonight. It's impossible to find two harder hitting, gut wrenchingly emotional and angry performances than you would from Daniel Day Lewis and Pete Postlethwaite in that film. Shout out to Emma Thompson as well. What a film.

Watched ‘As Good As It Gets’ the other night. Jack Nicholson really has a penchant for playing messed up characters.

I thought it was quite funny in places.
Clearly a bit of a pisstake, tongue in cheek film for me.

If it was supposed to be serious though, it didn't work.

      Just watched Hereditary.

Really really good and for me lived up to the hype.

Also such a well made film with a score that gets under your skin.

not a film per say but I watched a documentary about the flat earth society called ''Behind the Curve'' on netflix. The amount of delusion and arrogance to come up a flat earth claim is unbelievable. especially that two flat earthers debunked themselves  :lmao:

Huge recommend for the documentary “Free Solo”
Tells the story of the rope free climb of El Capitan in Yosemite by the incredible, Alex Hunnold
I was fortunate to have worked with Alex and also the director, Jimmy Chin on different projects over the last few years.

One Upon A Time In The West

Never seen it so I got it on DVD at Christmas. Still to be watched though! It was only a couple of year ago when I first saw The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and if it's anywhere near that then I'm sure I'm in for a treat. Something I'm definitely gonna try and do in the coming days/weeks.

I watched Leone's Once Upon A Time In America last year as well. Would have to watch it again to have a settled opinion on it - I had problems with it (I f**king despised De Niro's character both as an adult and when he was a kid) but at the same time it's obvious that it was such a delicate piece of film making with astonishing craftsmanship from Leone!

You are definitely in for a treat mate.

I love Leon's Westerns and although the Dollars Trilogy are fantastic films this one just pips them for me.

And Ennio Morricone's score is fantastic.

Watched Primal Fear for the first time in ages.

I pretty average courtroom drama that's lifted by an excellent performance from Ed Norton.

I knew it was an early role of his but forgot it was his debut until I looked it up after.
