      Just finished watching Soul.

Stunning film and up there with Pixar's very best.

Watching this tonight with kids after footy ...

Rogue One is easily the best modern Star Wars movie.
Only thing better than it in recent Star Wars offerings is The Mandalorian Season 1.

Agreed. Especially after the year we've had.
      Lovely movie.

Rogue One is number 2 out of them all for me. I absolutely love it.

Also that score from Reznor and Ross for Soul is fantastic.

I loved the visuals of Rogue One but I felt the movie was a bit cold and lacking the charm of the original trilogy. Although that Vadar scene at the end was cool.

I hate the new trilogy it was such a lazy cash grab by Disney.

Haven't bothered with Solo as it smacks of another lazy cash grab.

Apart from Rogue One the new star wars movies make the prequels look like masterpieces.

The Mandalorian on the other hand is amazing and for me the true successor to the OT.

If they would just scrap that rubbish new trilogy and give Favreau and Feloni full reign for creating their own Star Wars movies it will be something special again.

The Mandalorian feels like it "gets" what Star Wars was/is.

The sequels and Solo were horrendeous for different reasons.

Solo - If you are going to do it, you need to get the main character casting right. They didn't.

VII, VIII, IX - The inconsistency in storytelling because of the changes of directors etc destroyed what could have been there. Lost opportunity.
They could have made that trilogy anything they wanted and it went back to originals at the cost of everything else. Utterly shambolic.
VIII tells you that anyone one can be great and sets up for a tale continuation on that basis. IX shuts all that down and navel gazes at everything going
      back to the originals.

So, in life sometimes we hold something off for a while and think one day I will get to it, often by the time we get it to it, it doesn't live up to expectations or you wish you never even bothered.

Well, my thing was Pulp Fiction specifically, I had put off watching it for years and years due to the hype and the constant nagging that I NEED to watch it, finally, I did and boy did I enjoy it, what a great film!

Not only that, but I had been putting off watching Quentin Tarintino films, but after Pulp Fiction I thought to myself, what else have I been missing out on. In the last couple of days I have seen, The hateful eight, Django unchained and once upon a time in Hollywood. All great films, but the hateful eight? Now that is an instant classic in my book, definitely up there is one of my favourite films.

Also seeing the star wars chat above got me excited, love SW, I have to agree with previous posters Rogue One is easily the best film to come out of the new bunch but what they have done in Mando in S1 and S2 surpasses everything recently released. Do not want to spoil it for anyone, but if you enjoy SW and haven't seen the mando yet watch it, if you have seen S1 but not S2 watch it and if you are on S2 but have not seen the final episode DEFINITELY watch it.

Totally agree with those singing the praises of The Mandalorian both seasons blew me away and the finale of season 2 was a thing of beauty ,for me it’s right up there with Rogue one & just what we all needed during these troubled times ... an incredible distraction ... i Oh & grogu is boss.

      Just watched Ava.

Could have been a great action movie but below average at best.

Chastian, Malkovich and Farrell couldn't raise this and the potential was there.

I think a bigger problem was the script.

Watched a dog movie called Togo with William Defoe over the holiday.

Great movie well worth watching even if dog movies aren't your thing.

      Z for Zaccariah

Was supposed to be a sci-fi, but ended up a quiet 3 hander. More about the tension/relationships between people.

The wife was twiddlin on her phone but started watching it and liked it - nuff said.

Crap enough end though, hate when movie finishes and your like, F**k sake is that it ?!?!
