Watched No Time to Die again last night.

Enjoyed it first time round but second time round, it a) has a lot of plot holes and non logical moments and b) (and I think this is important for any Bond movie), it doesnā€™t have that watchability factor that the best ones have where you can watch them multiple times and enjoy it.

I remember the reviews were raving about it, but on a second watch I thought it was pretty sh*t and nowhere near the level of Skyfall or Craigs best Bond which is Casino Royale imo.

watched it last night and enjoyed it thought it was a really good Bond film. I didnt really enjoy Skyfall thought it went to long.
It was quite a sad ending really 16 years since Craig's first Bond film and a good Red too.

Gonna have a cinema day next week and watch that and the new Fantastic Beasts film (albeit bad reviews).

Really looking forward to The Northman though.

      Epic is not the word.

Loved every minute. Although my wife didn't know what to make of it, having never seen a Robert Eggers film before mind.

      Update.

The wife has had a think today and now agrees it's a masterpiece.

An assualt on the senses and, if I'm being really picky a couple of dodgy accents, but get past that and this is a proper cinematic experience.

Watched,"Joker" the other day when it came out on Netflix. I remembered it got some some favourable reviews, so I gave it a go despite having no interest in comic book films. I watched til the end and I was interested in J. Phoenix's performance but I found the tone disturbing. It was a bit like Taxi Driver, people being pushed into psychosis by a violent and brutal society where there's sympathy for the psychology of the disturbed, but no respect for how he chose to deal with it. My problem with the tone is that he seemed to be saying that protest is riot and based only on psychotic rage.

I'm with Scorsese and co on this. Super hero / Marvel films are not cinema. They're just cheap fairground rides. F**k them.

Hugh Grant is excellent in this.

Agree on Marvel as well. I think they've done a great job building those universes etc but I think it's way beyond the overkill stage now.

Haven't even thought about going to see Doctor Strange.

Now Top Gun Maverick, that's another story. Looks like a proper summer blockbuster.

Depends how they're done. Marvel seem to have a pretty basic formula. Taika Waititi's involvement has helped them a bit as I love his humour. For all the sh*t DC got, they seem to have upped their game lately Nd the new The Batman film was very good.

DC, Batman & Joker were pretty intense movies along with their soundtracks..

Iā€™m hoping Thor ainā€™t too ā€˜wokeā€™... and Iā€™m looking forward to seeing the Guardians again, my favourite Marvel team, they just click tighter ..

You know Drax is gonna die in the next one. Dave Bautista already stated the third will be his last Guardians movie.

You watched "Peacemaker" yet? The humour in that is deffo non-pc

      Guardians my favourites as well.

Went to see Doctor Strange in the end as I had a free evening and have a monthly pass.

As average as I thought it would be and a big disappointment from a Sam Raimi point of view as his Spiderman movies are still the ultimate screen version of Spidey for me.

Watched "Operation Mincemeat" on Netflix. Liked it. Not 100% factual but it is an amazing story. Its about the deception campaign to fool the Germans before the invasion of Sicily.
