Just got back from watching Deadpool
      With a few mates.
What a great film it is too , I haven't laughed as much as I did  in a while even the cinema audience couldn't stop laughing .I went in thinking it would be good and it exceeded my expectations, lots of blood & quite a fair bit of profanity & some nudity.Stay right to the end for more Deadpool.

Finally got around to seeing Skyfall, heard a lot about it beforehand, but for me, the best of Daniel Craig's outings as Bond, excluding Spectre, as I haven't seen it yet.

Its far better than Spectre mate and like you I think its easily the best of the Craig Bonds closely followed by Casino Royale.

Spectre still worth checking out though.

And also, finally, saw Star Wars. Whole cinema to myself. Solid film but I've already  forgot bits and pieces of it. A set up for the sequels with lots of homage paid to the original trilogy.

Spectre has a lot of style but it lacks big time in the substance of Skyfall. I don't think they made best use of Christoph Waltz as the villain. Not an issue with Waltz it's just he seemed underused. He's signed onto the next film apparently so it will be interesting. Few villains are as memorable as Javier Bardem's in Skyfall though so Waltz had a very tricky task in following him. I think he might be the best villain of them all!

One film I was going to catch at the cinema but missed was Bridge of Spies. Will have to get it on DVD. Love Spielberg and Hanks and I've heard great things about this one. Apparently Spielberg's best since Saving Private Ryan.

Film I watched on dvd a couple of nights ago - Cool Hand Luke. Saw the second half of it about three years ago and enjoyed it but always intended to watch it in full. Didn't disappoint. Hard to pin quite what I loved about it (aside from Paul Newman's performance) but love it I did!

I've just watched Lone Survivor and I really enjoyed it. A simple story told very well and it passed quickly which is always a good sign. The cinematography is excellent in places.

Solid 8/10 and recommended to anyone who likes military films.

Haven't seen that yet but strangely was listening to the soundtrack this evening.

Really good by a band called Explosions in the Sky.

Just finished this and thought it was very good.

Enjoyed it a lot more than American Sniper.

I haven't seen that and I'm put off now that you say it's an inferior film.

It's still worth a watch mate and Bradley Cooper is very good in it but I didn't think it was as good as it was hyped.

If anyone likes gripping true stories , told by the actual person involved, then watch
FEAR OF THIRTEEN . It's superb.

I must admit to being well out of the loop on films post 2000-ish. I have seen very little from that year onwards, although I have just found a Windows app with a great selection of movies which I intend to take advantage of, including new stuff.

Just watched In the Heart of the Sea, staring Chris Hemsworth. I didn't think this would be my kind of movie but I really enjoyed this true story which went on to inspire Herman Melville's Moby-Dick. Some harrowing events occurred in this movie directed by Ron Howard, that were retold after Owen Chase's publication of the events. 8/10

Just finished watching that mate. Didn't really fancy it at all beforehand, but thought it was a good film. Maybe not 8/10 but a good 7/10 Certainly kept my interest throughout ...

Watched a few decent films recently but none more than a 6/10 really. Secret in their eyes. So so film that could have been much better. Julia Roberts and Nicoll Kidman failed to lift it above the average.

Forsaken :- Keifer and Donald Sutherland cowboy film that while watchable didn't inspire. Seen it all so many times before.

Misconduct :- Was really looking forward to this one but it was a disappointment to be honest. Al Pacino has had his day now unfortunately and Hopkins seems to play the same role in every film these days. Story had more holes than our defence.

Still waiting for Star Wars and a good quality copy of Deadpool.

I watched Secret in their Eyes Saint. I'd give that a good 7/10. I think the ending/twist could have been slightly better but it kept me intrigued. Plus Nicole Kidman is still easy on the eye.

I watched that Forsaken the other day, a bit meh that one. 5/10.

Considering Roberts and Kidman are the same age the difference is stunning. I know that Roberts was supposed to look rough but she did too good a job of it for me :)
