      Browser keeps crashing
      Jul 06, 2009 07:44:47 am
Whether its IE, Safari or Chrome, they all keep crashing on me. I downloaded the latest versions of all and it still happens. A random 'runtime error has occured...click OK to terminate program' always comes up. Not happening with other programs, just my internet browsers.

Anyone know how to solve it? Would be much appreciated.

Yeah mate have all of them and every one does the same. You'd think it was my computer but no other program does it. Mind boggling. Might wait abit and then see if it still happens.

Restart your computer and press F8 on startup.

From there you should have a small menu - highlight "Restore Last Known Settings That Worked" and hit enter.

Every program on my computer was crashing on me once - that fixed it.

Couldn't resist, had to sort somebody's internet on Windows tonight I felt like just walking away and telling them to get a proper computer.

Before people throw the expensive line at me - just get yourselves a Mac mini.  You've already got a monitor.

Back to the point though - is Safari the new version 4 (not the beta).  I'd recommend that.  The other thing that tends to cause Runtime errors is Malware. I'd go deep. With a virus scan.

Tried that and it has worked to some extent. Doesnt crash straight away, more like 30 minutes.

Yeah i downloaded 4 just before i posted. Running better than the older one.

I think the new Norton i'm getting will sort me out.
