Netball rules???

My sister plays netball (under 11s) and whenever someone shoots at goal the defenders never jump to grab the rebound.
Does anyone know the rules for netball because no one I've talked to seems to know the rules, me and my Dad were watching today and couldn't understand why the defenders never got the rebounds and always let the attackers get the rebounds and keep shooting. Are you allowed to jump to get the rebound??

No rule like that to my knowledge.  I played goal defence in school (one of the two defensive positions allowed in to the circle) and always used to jump for rebounds.  You'd never get the ball back otherwise!

Yeah, i agree with whyohwhyohwhy. I used to play for my school and i used to play as the goal attacker and i'm sure the defenders could try and go for the rebounds.

Maybe they don't allow the younger players to try and get the rebounds to avoid injuries or something like that.

Agree, i played mixed in year 6, was either getting called for contact or would forget about the whole not being able to go anywhere on the court thing :

I played centre so i was okay with that part but every time i would contest it, *WHISTLE*
