What about an knighthood for Bill Shankly?  He started it all !  Paisley was great but he just built on a sound foundation laid by the master without whom.............?

I wouldn't quite say Rafa's cleaning up after Houllier, more building on what Gerard did for us.

Houllier turned us from a mid table team into one that was pushing for a CL place each season. Unfortunately that was as far as he could take us & the time was right for a change. He was never gonna win us the league but I'm grateful for the progress he made.

Also, just nit-picking, but I can't really say we beat Milan without making it look hard.

Not quite true. He could get an honorary knighthood. He won't be entitled to the "Sir" before his name, however.

But again, as I said in another thread: How do you know that he wants such an honour? Personally I think the very concept of aristocracy is disgusting.

Rafa really is a genius, he deserves to be here for as long as possible, he is so calm and such a gentleman, will he ever explode or jump for joy one day?

I think if he was to stick around as long as the alkie at manu ferguson has been with the scum he will become  the most succsesfull manager in english football it wont be long before liverpool rule again with Mr benitez  as manager. allready on par with fregie in european cup helping us win our 5th and on course for our. (6th european cup that would be magic) premier league next year (hopefully) how class would that be....... he done all this on a budget to imagine him with big money to spend. drooling at the prospects allready
