Well as Roy is targetting 2 players from PSV his arguement doesn't really stand up does it? Sorry, but anyone who slags the manager off in public is not going to last long here.

      Chris Mavinga - "you go"

      Mavinga "you go"

      France Football

Trained at the Paris Saint-Germain defender of 19 years, Chris Mavinga, answering questions about his future at the Reds

"Cris, what is your situation, three weeks after winning the Euro Under-19 years with France?

I thought that with this success and what I produced on the ground I would have the opportunity to train with the first team and play bits of games. Roy Hodgson, who replaced Rafael Benitez, is changing the organization of the club tries to encourage English players against foreigners, unlike its predecessor.  He clearly stated he wanted to remake an English club Liverpool.  It already feels at the reserve team. It is a choice, we must respect.

      You could argue with him?

Yes, quick. He did not say much. The problem is that there are too many players to the training of professionals: they are twenty-eight! So, while Rafael Benitez had allowed me to train with the pros during the second half of last season, I returned to the reservation.  I am disappointed and angry. So I want to go, why not lending.  This club, I love him, but if the situation requires me to go, I will. I ask not to contest a full season with the team flag.  I demand fair opportunity to train with her, then later have a little game time last season, was a logical progression, and if I stay with the reserve, it is the brake. I hope to find a club.

      You have tracks?

In France and England. But it is difficult, given the market situation. In addition, Liverpool is not keen to lend me. If I'm not leaving this summer, I hope I can do it in January, if my situation does not change by then. What is certain is that I never should lower the arms. I will not stop working even if I stay with the reservation. I want to reach a good level and go after things. » "

Any French Speakers want to offer a better translation, Ayrton perhaps ? :D

I think that is the translation from French to English.

The French have a very limited vocabulary compaired to English.

The "I love him" may be because the "club" is male.  Non?

Maybe a case of lost in translation but idiotic comments from a kid, albeit a promising kid. Bad attitude.

Nobody walks into the Liverpool first team and Kelly and Ayala were always ahead of him, with Kelly's versatility getting the nod over the Spaniard.

Kinda see his point.. He was CB in the winning team at the youth world cup, weve been lauding pacheco for just getting into the final.. hes only asking to at least be training with the first team and not winning trophies then back to the reserves

Plus if Roys told him its over nationality then expect Rodolfo to quit very soon :(

Why would Rodolfo quit. I remember him saying in an interview that, in the same way Barcelona players were best represented by Catalan players, Liverpool was best represented by English players. For all you know Rodolfo could have been part of the decision making when it came to that philosophy. Thats why we bought more English players in the last season for the under 18s and Reserves

Now that Pacheco seem to be back in the team (on the bench at least) I wonder if Mavinga will finally be given a chance ? (or just if anyone know what happened to him since the unfortunate interview where he was guilty of criticizing Hogdson before everyone realised how bad a manager Roy is).

If he is a good prospect as his success in u19 tournament seem to show, wouldn't it be a good time to give him a chance, and have him at least on the bench now that two of our three best defenders are injured, and as Ayala is on loan ?

Of course Wilson is before him in pecking order, but if Danny get some starts, Mavinga should logically be on the bench.

ps : seing that John Flanagan and Jack Robinson will be with the team in next match, as well as Eccleston, it seems that Chris was spot on about the english preference.

pps : now I don't know how well he played recently ; I'm not following the reserves and youths and just never heard of him since last summer -but he was very good with french youth, even when he played on the sides- ; so it's possible he just don't desserve a first team experience for the moment. Can someone following the ressies give some news of his form ?

Doesnt strike me as outstanding in reserve games, he has a bright future but not with us in my opinion. We have better kids in Kelly, Wilson, Flanagan and even Ayala who are showing alot more.
Mavinga would be a decent championship player in time

Word that he had a very good game for Genk against Lukaku/Anderlecht - has been good all season - and is about to lift the trophy with them.

He's been a starter only for the last four games. Haven't seen too much of him, but I only hear good things of him. It was difficult for him to get into the team with Pudil on leftback, but now he's done it and I assume he will keep his place for the final 3 games of the play-off. Genk has a really good chance of winning the league now.
