The Beatles greatest song

Time for some serious debate people.

Of all the Beatles songs which do you thing is there very best? Dosnt have to be one of there famous songs just whichever one you think is there greatest.

For me Brian - "Get Back"

There are places I remember - pure classic and reminds me so much of Istanbul

My choice would be 'Strawberry Fields Forever', b-side 'Penny Lane' ...... surely the strongest 'single' ever released.

"In my life" gets my vote.But "strawberry fields forever" and "yesterday" are right up there!

Not a big fan of The Beatles. Apart from George Harrison, I find/found their egos quite nauseating, but saying that I can not denigh their music, melodies, compositions, and the like, fantastic.

Personally I do not think you can have a "greatest" Beatles song as I like diferent ones for different moods, but I do agree with justice4the96 with There are places I remember because of that wounderful Istanbul Video.

"In My Life" especially with the words being spoken by Sean Connery, always leaves my hairs standing on end when I hear this version.

Personally for me any from Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, A Day In The Life or Eleanor Rigby.

Anything off Sgt. Pepper and Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane also the White Album is a real showstopper.

Surreal!! even Ringo looks trippy

The likes of Daytripper and we can work it out are never mentioned as the best but they are cracking tunes. Still dont know my favourite ill be back again 

So hard to choose, I find it impossible to pick just one....so my top 5 would be.

For me Helter Skelter, Let it Be, Eleanor Rigby or While My Gutar Gently Weeps with Eric Clapton.  These are the only Beatles songs I really like...the rest are listenable but I'm not a huge fan.

I'd like to say about my favorite songs, not the greatest ones.

1. I've just seen a face.  Is it folk or country?
I'd like even dance remix made for that song what is unusual for me.
2. Ticket to ride.
I like music video of that song in "Help!"
3. Getting better!
Like the line: I have to admit it's getting better. It's getting better all the time!

I started listening their music because of their personalities after I watched AHDN. In fact,before I was indifferent to all their greatness.

I like most of them, but A Day in the Life just captures the Beatles so well that it's a classic to me.
Other ones: Come Together, Strawberry Fields Forever, Ticket to Ride, Day Tripper, It's Only Love, etc.

sh*t 90% of them were great.

Thats almost an Impossible question to answer. I love the Beatles, so picking 1 song is frying my brain.

My #1 Would have to be "Dont Let Me Down". It is a PERFECT song. Even Ringo's drums.

Toughie this but probably Back In The USSR for me. Love I Am The Walrus too. There's some perfume ad out at the moment with Drive My Car on it, keep finding myself breaking into "beep beep, beep beep, yeah" whenever it comes on!

Lucky to have seen Macca at Anfield it was memorable especially in the Kop and he sang a lot of these songs or to be honest the crowd did.Might of been an easier post if you'd asked which dont you like. I love them all. They bring back childhood memories

I was at that concert too johnstop, it was a wonderful night of entertainment, not quite as good as watching the Reds play of course, but Macca belted out some cracking tunes that night didn't he?

The Beatles anthology DVD is a must if you have over 12 hours to spare cant think of what damage could be caused by listening to Oasis for 12 hours. Macca at Anfield singing in the Kop it must have been like that in the early 60's.

"Something" by George Harrison reportedly Frank Sinatra's favourite Lennon and Macca song.Hey Jude is my favourite because it goes on forever when its played live.

I've always thought George was the most underrated.  Something is an amazing song as is taxman, while my guitar etc.

But i think A Day In The Life is my fave.

Ringo was just filler, his songs were awful

I'm a busy person now.  it's necessary to have more spare time for To be on the forum. 

Now I think I should translate from Russian source where I read Ronaldo's quote which was obviously translated from English original article. They translated the context as they thought.
So what I read:
"Manchester United ex-star Cristiano Ronaldo about livelong rivalry of Liverpool and MU. Liverpool have the Beatles, Manchester - Oasis. As in music so in football the better team is in Manchester."
There's some difference in sense. However I think that's really what he wanted to say.

I was nearly to get Anthology disks. But mail service wasn't so reliable. And may be some one else got them.
So now I have re-watched for a thousand time film "Help". One of the bestparodies on Bond movies and even Lord of ring, as for me.

Have just remembered, I read some years ago Rafa's favorite songs are "Help!" and "Michelle". Does any one know it's true or not?

I love this song as it relates to pretty much everyone and anyone, from all walks of life and from any part of the world

Thats the key to beatles songs people relate to them.

Can't forget the likes of Twist and shout, Hey Jude etc.

They are a quality band.
