It was from a famous reliable source.
And it wasn't a friend of a friend or my Dad.

      That doesn't really help.

I'm sure this guy has made such bold claims before and failed to back up it up with evidence...

Or even simply stating where he heard it from.

I'm really not allowed to say who it came from but as I said might just be bollox but I want to believe him and that's all there is to it.
I don't want to convince you, I'm just putting it in the back of your mind.
If it's true as my source said it is I will be made up and you will have more faith.

I did make another more important point in my origional posting...go think.

Do you think we'll win the league if we get him?

Still keeping fingers crossed that we can sign one of the wingers. Now Ribery has been thrown into the hat but I wouldn't mind Silva also. Any would fit the team, I think..

andy5star I think you have failed to convince me as well, but who cares it is only a matter of time before we find out our next signing.

"I don't think we will be signing anyone else for big, big money - just maybe the ones who can fit into our team.

He sounds as if he isn't really sure then.. So chins up this might just happen.

That's going to reduce anyone's faith in what you're saying to be honest.

Why on Earth can you not say who your source is?

Maybe the source is Rafa himself.. :D

But in all honesty I'm sorry but I wouldn't believe what you say andy, why not just wait for him to be unveiled wearing a Liverpool shirt?

Maybe he's one of the players we can rule out Dossena though because holding water is all he does. :f_tongueincheek:

Considering Rafa himself has dismissed the Ribery story and also said there will be no more big big big signings, taking into consideration Ribery's price tag I'd call that a big big big signing so this one is on the very highly unlikely menu for me, I think your friends talking verbally from his bottom. just my opinion like

i've heard Ribery is a done deal, Masher is going and Xabi will stay.
and we WILL have the money...but that's another story.
It's might just be transfer politics, who knows?

In my opinion Ribery is the only player that the sh*te can get to try and fill the void left by that dickhead going. If Ribery comes to us I think we'd have to favorites to go better next year and win the title.

The though of it is keeping me really optimistic.

If this is from a 'famous reliable source' as you say, get on over to skybet and put a truckload of dosh on it.  You can still get 11/4.  I've put the link in for you  ;)

We cant allow Mascha to go even if that means we sign Ribery the next day. Mascha is vital for us and would leave a huge gap

And what if we would sell Masch, move Gerrard to CM with Alonso, Ribery on the right and Dirk with torres up front?

The thing is that we don't know how the team would play in a 4-4-2. I think that Rafa should try it out in friendlies.

That is going to break the Torres and Gerrard threat that I feel will be our crown jewel next season. Also Mascha is vital for us m8. Look at the first leg against Chelsea this season and how they dominated in midfield with Mascha missing. The lad is a diamond and should not be sold at any price

With the current squad our offense is the best in the league, why try to break a great working formation to something unknown and lose an arm and a leg to finance that? Pointless.

Sorta agree and disagree with this statement... on the one hand... they look bloody awesome together... on the other hand it's obviously not perfect because we haven't won the league.
