      :lmao: :lmao:

That gave me a good laugh!

D4 means Dublin 4. It's a postcode in Dublin, it's quite a posh area. So everyone there tries to speak... very American for some reason.

G4 is the name of a band that was on the XFactor a few years ago.  :D

'Come here til I tell ya' is used by a Dubliner with a thick accent, for some reason they say it just before they give you news. Like you'll be on the phone and I'd ask how was your day or whatever, they would reply with... (in an excited voice usually) Come here till I tell ya, I was walking down the street and then all of a sudden...

      Ah ta love.

Should of guess D4 meant Dublin 4 - just as L4 is Anfield here in Liverpool.

Closest thing we have is probably "wait till you 'air (proper Scouse for hear) this"

and yeah I'm all mentally clean now, took a while though ;)

      Glad to hear it.  ;)

(whatever that is, I thought it was the name of the opera band on X Factor a few years back)

       :lmao: Pure comedy that mate!

So 'come here til I tell ya' is basically the same as 'get on this'? Use too many words this Irish lot don't they?  ;)

Kind of, but as far as I know, they also use it in a not so friendly manor as well. Best ask Kenny about that one though... :-\

Nothing wrong with being a scally though mate. Proper shell suit trackies tucked into our socks with some sh*t white trainees and a baseball cap under our hood. And if we're flush we might have three or four fake gold rings/chains. Providing we haven't pawned them which is why we gotta be flush to have them. ;)

The thread is picking up scouse mate. Not picking up scousers.  ;)

:D It's just the right kind of scouse you want to hear. Unlike a Geordie accent on a sheila, that's just odd.

I finally took a look at this topic because you all have me brainwashed!!

I find myself thinking, but not saying, words & phrases like "mate" and "well in". Don't think I'd say it out loud, though. It sounds wrong with an American accent.

Besides, I have my Brooklyn accent to attend to..  ;D

I can't really think of too many terms we use, either. "Youse" = you (plural)

Try 'Is right!' as in a form of celebration, such as 'Well done.'

Would sound boss in an American accent that! :D Especially Brooklyn.

Barry from Brookie doing the speech. And Father Terry from Brookie. Love it when he tells the baby to shut it as well.
