They think they will win the lot and become the dominant force in world football whilst they are getting turned down by all the big names and ending up with the likes of Adebayor and Barry who are noting but money grabbers.

      9 Strikers! :lmao:

      Could go on and on........

MANCHESTER CITY defender Micah Richards has been confined to his holiday hotel room in Cyprus after becoming the first professional footballer to get swine flu. Doctor’s have stated that this is an extremely rare situation and doesn’t expect to see any other Manchester City players in Europe any time soon.

Super massive club Manchester City have flexed their muscles once again by making a bid for new President of the United States of America Barack Obama.

Executive chairman Garry Cook said, “We’re a massive club, honest, look I’ve got a tenner in my pocket,” before confirming speculation, “yes, we are after Obama as we want everyone to know that we can make bids for big names and we will not stop until we get our man… unless they say ‘no’.”

“We’re confident of getting Obama and showing the rest of Manchester, I mean, the rest of the world that we can get the best. Just like when we got Chelsea reserve full-back Wayne Bridge and someone from Wales.”

Oh surprise surprise - Terry has turned down City too :lmao:

They were never going to get him :lmao:

      Terry committed to Blues

John Terry has looked to end speculation regarding his future by committing himself to Chelsea.

The Blues skipper has remained ominously quiet this summer throughout a protracted transfer saga linking him with a move to Manchester City.
His refusal to comment was taken as a hint that he could be tempted to take on a new challenge at Eastlands, after spending his entire career to date at Stamford Bridge.

However, the England international has now laid those rumours to rest by insisting he has no desire to secure a switch away from West London any time soon.

"There has been a lot of speculation recently about my future and I want to clear this up once and for all," Terry said in a statement released on Chelsea's official website.

"I am totally committed to Chelsea and always have been. Chelsea have also made it clear to me consistently that there was never any intention to accept any kind of offer.

      Respect

"When you are linked with any club, or with a manager who I have huge respect for, it will always make headlines but me leaving Chelsea was never a possibility.

"I know there has been comment that I should have made a statement earlier. However, throughout this period there have been numerous discussions between myself, the owner and the Chelsea board and we all agreed that the timing of the statement would suit everyone involved in those talks, not any outside influences or agendas.

"What is clear to me following those discussions is that Chelsea's ambition remains as high as ever. This has been further proved by the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti. I am certain that he will take this club on to the next level.

"Another important factor was knowing that Chelsea would be securing key current players for the long term. The strengthening of the squad around this core is crucial to pushing us onto greater success.

"I am as committed as ever to helping drive Chelsea forward and I will be proud to lead the team for as long as I can."

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill believes free-spending Manchester City could win this season's Premier League title.

A summer of unprecedented spending at Eastlands has seen expectation levels soar at Eastlands, with Mark Hughes showing no sign of slowing his recruitment campaign despite the high profile additions of Gareth Barry, Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Defender Kolo Toure is expected to join the City revolution from Arsenal, while it is anticipated they will also step-up their pursuit of Everton defender Joleon Lescott.

O'Neill's Villa side, who have made massive strides of their own over the past few seasons, are one of those expected to be overhauled by City.

But, far from expressing bitterness at the shift in power, the Northern Irishman has revealed his excitement at events in Manchester, and believes Hughes' men should now be placed alongside city rivals United, Liverpool and Chelsea as genuine title challengers.

"This Manchester City side is going to be so, so strong that they can withstand anything," O'Neill said.

"City might not be favourites to win the league but they should be. If Toure comes - and they still haven't stopped spending - they have as good a chance as anyone of winning it.

"This situation at City reminds me of Chelsea about five years ago - you can have great success if you can accumulate a group of top-quality players over a short period of time.
      Deflated

"There's part of me that's actually quite excited to see how they will do. It's as if the Premier League has been reinvented."

O'Neill does, however, admit that his attempts to break into the top four are likely to be rendered unsuccessful by City's splurge.

"I'm deflated by it," he added.

"You think, 'Well, you got quite close last year and suddenly another club has just stepped over you'. It kind of punctures you. I'm sure if you asked "The Chosen One" at Everton he would think the same.

"I would say the top four has become a genuine top five. They're even seemingly putting it beyond the sides who would be competing within the top four."
