There's something altogether more unseemly and sinister about Infantino when compared to his predecessor Blatter. Blatter was a bloated clown, politically incorrect and blatantly corrupt to the point of being comical - a bit like Silvio Berlsusconi. But Infantino? Given that he was the successor to Blatter he presented himself as a clean break but he's not. His slyness and shadiness makes him worse. The man is capable of doing even more damage to the sport of football and has already done plenty as it is.

He's a wretched individual who is no better than a sewer rat.

When Amnesty are on your back then you know you've got problems. Blood stained club and even more rich of Pep to do their dirty work for them when he's the first in line to demand democratic/civic rights for Catalonians. Hypocrite. In the rivalry stakes we may dislike Man Utd more, but as a club they can at least point to establishing their status by right of history. In that sense Man City have every justification to be the most detestable side in the whole of Europe. A PR plaything for blood stained dictators who have sucked the life and meaning out of a club now replete with a gormless, vacuous support base that was once amongst the most vocal and committed in Britain.

But they play nice football so that's all that matters isn't it?

used to have time for City they had such a bad time going down the leagues and did so well coming back and they had great support.
This team and club is sponsored by some very dodgy individuals and the fan base have really become nasty and bitter it seems they cant handle success.
Really don't want them to win it at any cost

yes, regarding this cup is best to go out early if not the winner. It's because the fixtures schedules are so annoying!

So we can switch our target to the other half of Madchester after today.

They've dropped to 3rd in the table.

Sterling should have remembered ... when you leave Liverpool the only way is down.

This. We’ve been favourites before and look how it turned out. Keep our heads down and concentrate on our own game, results around us will take care of themselves, nothing is won at this stage. Maybe navigate 6 points in the next 2 games before we start laughing at City too much.

I do think though, if we do beat Arsenal and City to go 10 points clear of them, they will essentially just down tools on the domestic front and put all their focus on the Champions League, which the owners are more desperate for. The top 4 is a slippery place to be, youcan easily fall out of it so if this does happen, then it wouldn’t surprise me if City start having to look over their shoulder at 5th place chasing. It’s not unrealistic, look how bad City often were in Pep’s first year. But there is a lot to happen in the next week first before that’s even worth considering.

What didn't sit well with me last night was the chant copying, and booing over our fans when we were trying to chant. This would never happen at Anfield.

Nice to see them fill out their stadium for once. Mings.

Police investigating after Liverpool fans 'pelted with coins' during Man City clash

A number of fans reported missiles being launched into the away end at the Etihad Stadium

Police are investigating after claims Liverpool fans were pelted with coins during last night's top of the table Premier League clash with Manchester City.

A number of Reds fans have reported that coins were thrown at them by home fans at the Etihad Stadium as Liverpool lost out to title rivals City.

Greater Manchester Police have today said they will be investigating the reports.

One LFC fan explained what he said he experienced in the away end during last night's match, which the home side won 2-1.

He said: "It's absolutely mad that people can have such anger towards somebody else over a team they support they feel the need to throw coins.

"I genuinely can't get my head around that mentality because it's just a game at the end of the day.

"They are throwing a metal object into a section of fans that has kids in.

"Imagine if it was to hit a kid in the eye? Things like that can be life changing and shouldn't be going on in football grounds."

The fan also claimed that stewards at the ground were notified of the issue but failed to act.

He said: "What is just as annoying is the lack of care the stewards were showing.

"My seat was on an aisle and the first coin I spotted getting thrown over I said to a steward 'Are you onto that? They are throwing coins'.

"His response initially was that he couldn't hear me and then he said he was sure they "will be taking a look".

"Another instance was when a coin hit somebody I was with on the shoulder. I mentioned it to a different steward and he told me to calm down. I then mentioned it again and he said he would go and speak to somebody. He didn't."

Another Liverpool fan who was at the match, Ayaz Duad, tweeted: "Them Man City fans were horrible throwing coins and bottles at us in our end." He told the ECHO that coins were thrown around the time of both Man City goals. He added: "We got coins thrown at us and bottles - also a flare was thrown into our end and someone threw it back."

The ECHO has seen correspondence today in which Greater Manchester Police has confirmed it has received reports of coins being thrown and says it is now investigating.

Manchester City and Greater Manchester Police have been approached for comment.

We all know how seriously that lot take throwing objects, after their poor bus last year I’m sure they will be ruthless in their action taken here.

If FIFA/UEFA pull their finger out Man City could be kicked out the competition regarding Fair Play rules...

Won’t happen but would be jouyful if we did meet them in the CL and they were kicked out & we get a bye into the next round 😁

in final yes, then get the CL and the league. That'll show em.  If they get early exit it makes it harder for us to win league
