Wow, Pep actually managed to mention us once again in his post match interview. Obsessed.

Haha, what’s he had to say this time?

City have lost a bit of their aura, they are still playing very good attacking football but teams are now having a go at them and exposing the defence. I genuinely think we have a better balance in our team than City do and I'm starting to feel this really could finally be our year.

The wailing about CB’s from this lot. How much did Stones cost them? Otamendi?

I know Stones was a huge amount and now crying about how he’s not good enough.

Becomes a hissy fit whenever Pep hasn’t got world class quality 3 players deep in every position.

Hope teams really go for them and Otamendi or Stones get themselves suspended for a period too.

Pep moaning about not having the money for a CB and can’t spend like others. How much were Rodri and Cancelo? £150mill? Cancelo doesn’t even play.

Like it said on MOTD ...   Otamendi and Stones together a disaster.... all the stats prove it.

Now it looks as if Stones will be out for around 5 weeks.

We need to jump at this opportunity and maximize our points while they struggle in case of a bump later on in the season. A cushion might be needed.

Not sure it's much of an opportunity looking at the prem fixtures till the end of Oct: -

      Us
      Chelsea (A)
      Sheffield U (A)
      Leicester (H)
      Man U (A)
      Spurs (H)

      City
      Watford (H)
      Everton (A)
      Wolves (H)
      Palace (A)
      Villa (H)

Hard to see them dropping (m)any points there and we have a tough run.
Not inconceivable they could overhaul us by the end of Oct.

It’s definitely good news for us don’t get me wrong but I feel that they could stick almost anyone at centre back and still win most of their games. Norwich was an anomaly and I don’t see it happening again any time soon.

Depends what their fixture list is like, do they have any top 6 teams over the next few weeks?

Edit: Just checked and their games over the next 6 weeks are Watford (H), Everton (A), Wolves (H), Crystal Palace (A) and Aston Villa (H). Don’t see much of a challenge there for them regardless of the centre back crisis.

Across the other 2 competitions they take part in over that period, they face the might of Shaktar Donetsk, Preston, Dinamo Zagreb and Atalanta.

Is an absolutely huge reliance on Otamendi though to basically play every game right through until Jan (when they will presumably sign someone). He’s going to be absolutely knackered going into the Christmas period.

No, and you probably did not either.

Hate them all you want, but they are a formidable team and they didn't get 198 points in 2 seasons by mistake.

Just like us, at a macro level you know they'll drop points across 38 games, but at the micro level, you expect them to win every game they play (except against us) because of how good they are.

Course not, no-one did!  That makes them less likely to slip up in the coming games.

Put it this way, would you prefer ours or City's next 5 league matches and who do you think has the easier run?

Considering we have our preferred defence and a more than capable reserve goalie, I prefer ours. Significant disruption to a defence will affect any team, even Citeh.

It will provided teams take the same approach as Norwich and have a go at them.

True, but I suspect more and more teams will, there aren't many negative park the bus type teams in the league these days
