Pep is really in  a dark place now isn't he.

Finally seen that Barca documentary, I think it's Pique who said Messi was in a dark place after our semi.

Should just rename the club Headwreckers FC

      Latest one.
Apparently when they ran away with the title, then PL supremo Richard Scudamore said it wasn’t good for the league and he wanted it to go down to the wire.
Pep wants to know what the ‘powers’ think to this year.
If they don’t win the CL this year he’s going to need a year off to clear his head rather than going to manage anywhere else

Will be interesting to see what happens with Pep in the summer. Unless the unthinkable happens, they wont win the league and if they don't win or even make the final of the Champions League again then surely the season has to go down as a monumental failure for them. Regardless of whether they win the FA Cup and energy drink cup. I don't think there is any doubt about it either that the only reason they are going to win the cup vs Villa is because we were unable to compete in the QF, I think we'd have had it otherwise.

The amount of money he spent in the summer, yet again, then to be so far behind in the league, and not win the CL, it's nothing but a failure. You look at how Spurs binned Poch, Chavs binned Jose, Leicester binned Ranieri etc, and how City have gone through managers, he's a lucky man to still be in a job. 22 points behind is nothing short of an embarrassment for them.

Mentally, I don't think his team can even recover from that going into next season if they don't have the boost of winning the Champions League.
Read he's also made the most changes to his team this season; 76 different set ups, 30 more than us. It's like he's trying to prove he's some master tactician, probably why he plays up to it in front of the camera at matches.

Aside from Bernardo Silva and arguably Laporte and possibly Ederson, have any of his signings lived up to their price tag and hype? Their best players; KDB, David Silva, Aguero, Sterling and Fernandinho were all at the club before him. Obviously he's gotten the best out of them, but he wasn't responsible for them being there. It's not like he has had the success from his signings like Klopp has.

His time at City is coming to an end and is now currently relying on the past 2 seasons, domestically to keep him in a job. Been a complete failure up to this point in Europe.

We've wiped the floor with them this season and I really hope we dump them out the Champions League again this year.

According to reports that’s what some of the inquest was about when they were locked in the dressing room Sunday. The players arguing that he changed the team too much.

This season seems very similar to his final months at Barcelona.

Mourinho was managing Real Madrid and breaking all of the records, they went on to win the title that season and finish on 100 points (still the highest ever in La Liga) and also scoring 120 odd goals (another record which still stands today). The relentlessness of Mournho's Madrid that season, and also the intense rivalry with Jose over the last couple of years had completely broken him & he wanted out. Swap Mourinho for Klopp and you've pretty much got what's happening now (albeit the rivalry with Jürgen isn't as "nasty" as it was with Jose, but it's certainly as intense)

He left Barca at the end of that season winning a Copa Del Rey in his final game, knocked out the Champions League by Chelsea of course, and I can really see him doing something similar this year. If he makes it to the FA Cup final that would be his final game, perfect opportunity for an exit and to leave on a "high"

I think they'll win the FA Cup as well as getting nowhere near winning the Champions League. Not sure who they would replace him with, but they have to do a lot over the summer to keep up with us, I think.

Yeah they need a full overhaul of the squad and I don't think he's up to it. Probably need two full backs & another centre half (so that's 3/4 of a new defence), David Silva will be leaving, Aguero will be 32...

Whereas you look at our squad and everyone is around 27 & reaching their peak years, with the likes of Trent, Robbo & Gomez still all under 25

The FA has closed an investigation into allegations that Liverpool employees hacked into Manchester City's scouting system.

The FA has closed an investigation into allegations that Liverpool employees hacked into Manchester City's scouting system.

The FA asked both Premier League clubs for information concerning the matter, with Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards and staff members Dave Fallows and Julian Ward alleged to have hacked into a player database used by City.

It was alleged the login belonging to Manchester City scout Rob Newman was illicitly used by Liverpool staff on hundreds of occasions between June 2012 and February 2013.

However, due to the age of the allegations and the FA saying the matter was the subject of a £1m settlement between the clubs, the investigation will not go further unless new information comes to light.

An FA spokesperson said: "The FA has carefully considered the evidence it received in this matter, including information provided by both clubs involved, and has decided not to progress the investigation.

      https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/feb/14/manchester-city-banned-from-champions-league-two-seasons-ffp-uefa

Manchester City have been banned from the Champions League for the next two seasons by Uefa and fined €30m (£25m) after they were found to have seriously misled European football’s governing body and broken financial fair play rules.

The severity of the ban from both of Uefa’s elite club competitions, and the scale of the fine, reflects how seriously Uefa’s FFP compliance bodies consider the club to have breached the rules and code of conduct.

City were found guilty by Uefa’s Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) of having falsely inflated their sponsorship revenues, when they made submissions for the FFP compliance process. The guilty finding follows an investigation sparked by the publication of “leaked” emails and documents by the German magazine Der Spiegel in November 2018.

The “leaked” emails and documents appeared to show that City’s owner, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the Abu Dhabi ruling family, was mostly funding the huge, £67.5m annual sponsorship of the City shirt, stadium and academy by his country’s airline, Etihad. One of the leaked emails suggested that only £8m of that sponsorship in 2015-16 was funded directly by Etihad, and the rest was coming from Mansour’s own company vehicle for the ownership of City, the Abu Dhabi United Group.

FFP, introduced in 2011 with the aim of encouraging football clubs across Europe not to overspend on players’ wages, restricts the amount club owners can put in to cover losses. Sponsorships boost revenues and therefore the amount that clubs have to spend under FFP, so the perception that Mansour himself was in fact funding the Etihad deal led to the serious allegation that City had deceived Uefa’s CFCB, which is responsible for ensuring compliance with FFP.

City have vehemently denied wrongdoing throughout, and denounced the Spiegel coverage as based on “leaked or stolen” materials taken out of context. Spiegel anonymised their source as “John”, who was quoted saying that he had not hacked computers to obtain the emails. Shortly after their publication, he was identified as a Portuguese national, Rui Pinto, who has now been charged in Portugal with 147 criminal offences, including hacking and other cybercrimes, which he denies. The charges relate only to Portuguese football clubs and other organisations, not to the “leaks” of City’s or Uefa’s emails.

When City were charged last May, the club vehemently denied any wrongdoing, saying that they had been subjected to a “hostile” process which ignored “a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence”. City are considered certain to appeal against Uefa’s verdict to the court of arbitration for sport.
