Cringing for him. When the likes of Fergie and Mourinho would come out and talk publicly about rivals / the opposition it was more to play mind games and there was usually a reasoning behind it. This fella just strikes me as a crying c**t who can't get his own way. No logic behind what he's doing whatsoever. Absolutely embarrassing

They seem to have real issue over the player awards, Bernardo Silva was bitching about it earlier in the season. The 2 seasons they won the league, Salah won the award because he got 44 goals and broke the goal record for a Premier League season and Virgil won it last season because to put it simply, he was the worlds best player...despite being runner up due to the Messi bias. He also went the entire season without being dribbled past once. Maybe when they have players delivering remarkable seasons like that they will be in with a better shot of winning.

They've got a huge issue from the top right down to the supporters regarding recognition. Absolutely obsessed what the media are saying about them and how they look in the eyes of others (that fella breaking into the press box at last years FA Cup final a prime example), because deep down they know, most people don't recognize their "success" as it's been bought illegitimately, and it kills them

      Pretty much it.

Their attempts at snide remarks at us remind me a bit of Chelsea during Mourinho's reign at trying to make a rivalry to make them seem relevant. Them cu*ts and their supporters in general remind me of curtain-twitchers. They should be more worried about being the biggest team in Manchester first.

He is cringeworthy was a c**t as a player (no one seems to remember his failed doping test and ban in Italy and numerous red cards for snide fouls elbows and kicks on players) he’s remained a c**t as a manager.

Agree that club has a weird obsessive aura about it and their quest to maintain relevant smack of desperation.

Signed Ferran Torres. Quite the downgrade from Sane; in the last 3 seasons he’s managed 9 goals and 9 assists in about 100 games, so he offers very little goal threat. Coming to a league where it’s a lot more physical and teams just sit back and defend the entire game, I’d be surprised if he isn’t just as underwhelming as his productivity in Spain.

      £40M for Nathan Ake?

Relegated Bournemouth have accepted a £40m bid from Manchester City for defender Nathan Ake.

It is understood there is an additional £1m in add-ons as part of the deal.

Netherlands international Ake, 25, joined Bournemouth in 2017 for a club record fee and has made 121 appearances for the Cherries.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been targeting at least one centre-back to bolster his squad next season and Ake has been a target for a while.

Bournemouth were relegated from the Premier League after finishing 18th, while Manchester City finished runners-up.

I would like to take a look at their books to understand how they have money if we don't. Is it some amazingly generous Arabic sponsor perhaps.

So that takes Pep’s spending on defenders at City to about £340m since he arrived in 2016. Not far off the total spent by Klopp on players across all positions (around £400m) since he arrived about a year earlier.

While Liverpool have recouped more money the other way. I put the figures on players sold by the 2 clubs since 2016/17 as about £336m for Liverpool and £263m for City.

All this made the more interesting by the fact that Pep took over a team that that had won 2 league titles in the previous 5 years, finishing second in 2 of the other campaigns. A team with Kompany, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, David Silva, Aguero and many others. A team competing at the top for years. Klopp came in to a side in decline, who had not won a league title in 25 years, who had just lost it’s talismanic captain and who’s only silverware in the previous 10 years was a league cup.

Really puts it in to perspective.

So Klopp's net spend is about £70m then over 5 years? That in incredible when you think how weak the squad was when he arrived.

Figures might have been a little off mate, I believe his net spend is about £110m which pales in comparison to City’s roughly £600m net spend in the same time.

ln case anyone wondered how wrong the CAS decision was: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jul/30/der-spiegel-claims-new-manchester-city-emails-cast-doubt-on-cas-verdict

As Jürgen said, a bad day for football. Uneven playing field and we STiLL beat them by 18 points. But over a sustained period of time, very difficult to compete with that kind of financial power.

I guess the fact remains that players on a pitch win football games and while money can ensure the best players play here or there, only the teams themselves can ultimately determine who wins. We've shown that there are factors other than money.

Still, it frosts my pumpkin how blatantly they are allowed to break the rules.

Ferran Torres left Valencia because they wouldn’t make him captain and the highest paid player. What an attitude, will fit in well at that dump of a club.

Thing is with them their buying players like they come out of a luck bag. Apparently at least another 4 players before transfer market closes

It is as if La Liga have employed Guardiola to ruin their biggest rival the Premier League.  Whilst most clubs are sceptical of spending these lot are like a bunch of kids in a sweet shop.
