Best of luck Danny, was always hopeful you'd break into the first team, obviously wasn't meant to be.

Never really rated him, always thought he was clumsy and lacked a football brain.

      Best of luck anyway.

Gutted about this, really thought this lad could make it here. Looked classy for us and was brilliant out on loan last season.

Hull hope to win Ayala chase

Shakespeare confirms other interest in Liverpool defender

      Last Updated: August 9, 2011 11:14am

Hull City assistant manager Craig Shakespeare admits the club have rivals for the signature of Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala.

The Spaniard impressed during a loan spell at the KC Stadium last season and the Tigers are keen to bring Ayala back on a permanent basis.

A fee in the region of £850,000 is reported to have been agreed with Liverpool and Hull are now looking to meet the player's demands.

However, there have been claims that Premier League new boys Swansea City and the Tigers' Championship rivals Ipswich Town are looking to hijack the deal.

Shakespeare is aware of other interest in Ayala, but remains optimistic that the youngster can be added to Nigel Pearson's squad.

"We believe we have made a fair offer but we're not sure where Daniel and his agent see him next," said Shakespeare in the Hull Daily Mail.

"We would love to have him back on board here but there is another club involved."

Ipswich boss Paul Jewell is keen to improve his squad this week ahead of his side's game at home to Hull on Saturday.

Would have liked to see him as a starter in a few years for us, shame we could have had a superb defence:

      Kelly Ayala Wisdom Robinson
      Flanno Kelly Wisdom Robinson

      We still can.

      Canaries close on Ayala

Former Hull target poised for move to Carrow Road

      Last Updated: August 12, 2011 9:47am

Norwich City manager Paul Lambert has confirmed he has made a bid to sign Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala.

The Spaniard has been attracting the interest of several clubs and was wanted by Hull City after impressing on loan at the KC Stadium last season.

Hull had agreed an £850,000 fee for the 20-year-old, however, Tigers boss Nigel Pearson revealed on Thursday that the deal was 'dead in the water'.

Swansea City and Ipswich Town had also been linked with Ayala, but Norwich are now close to securing his signature.

Ayala faced the Canaries twice last season during loan spells at Hull and Derby, and he has made five appearances for Liverpool since arriving from Sevilla in 2007.

Norwich make bid for Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala

      Friday, 12 August

Norwich have made a reported £800,000 bid for Liverpool's Daniel Ayala.

The Anfield club signed the 20-year-old defender from Sevilla in 2007 but the Spain Under-21 international has failed to establish himself in the first team.

He impressed during a 12-game loan spell at Championship side Hull City last season and ended the campaign on loan at Derby County.

"We are more or less there and will just see how things go," said Norwich boss Paul Lambert.

"He's here at the minute, he's talking, and I think he's having a medical which we'll find out later on if everything's okay. If that goes through it'll be next week before I see him."

He added: "I just think you've got to have a lot of cover throughout the coming games and a long hard season. He's a young player and obviously played against us for Hull and Derby and I thought he was strong and aerial as well, he was somebody we thought could benefit the football club."

Ayala recently signed a Reds contract extension until the summer of 2012.

Ayala on verge of Norwich move

      12th Aug 2011

Liverpool have today confirmed that they are in negotiations for the sale of Daniel Ayala to Norwich City.

The young defender has been linked with a number of clubs over the past few weeks and boss Kenny Dalglish revealed that he is now on the verge of a move to the Canaries.

Dalglish told his pre-match press conference: "The only one going is Daniel Ayala," he said. "He's going to Norwich."

The PFA must be special if they can't decide between two players for that 2nd CB spot. Also, how they can have Adam Clayton as the stand out right mid this season when he's a DM/CM is hilarious. Bannan seems to have played most of the season at CM too, played quite a few games at LM but only has 2 goals and 2 assists. The rest of that team is pretty much spot on IMO.

      Typical PFA/FA really.
