So, I was wondering if any of you football fanatics had time for some quality motorsports now and then??? the Fourmula 1 season has already begun and the first race is 18-Mar, this sunday, in aussie-land. I've been a HUGE supporter of ferrari over the years  ;D and I was wondering if anyone shared my passion.

      Talk it up! :action-smiley-035: :action-smiley-035: :ernaehrung004: :ernaehrung004:

I enjoy watching it on TV, but I'll never go to a curcuit and watch 20 cars drive passed 60 / 70 times.
Are there any new drivers to watch out for this year ?

Think there is a new English fella.. completely forgotten his name.

I'm the same.  I'll watch it on the box but I would never go to Silverstone or whatever.  Unless someone else was paying.  Monaco.  I'd go there.

i go to the US race, its only 70 miles( i dont know how many km it is) from my house and i paint my face sometimes, but i've also got a batman mask that i've painted red so i can be my own form of support. its got LFC on one cheek and the ferrari prancing horse on the other. its the most addicting sport in the world, other than football of course. if i could do one thing and it wasn't football, i would drive the F1 circut w/o a doubt.

GO FERRARI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ME MEN MASSA AND RAIKONNEN!!!!!!!

I would love to be converted to watch it again after giving up taking an interest when Schumacher used to lead a procession round the track before winning every race!
Is it a more level playing field now or are there still only one or two cars capable of winning?

no, its more like 5 or 6. this makes it more interestin cause it think the FIA went back to only the first 6 finishers get the points. could be interesting. don't worry about scott speed though, hes not goin anywhere fast. sorry mate.

Love F1! Used to be better though in the old days though....Murrey Walker commentating with the playboy James Hunt as Senna, Prost, Piquet, Berger and Mansell...todays crop are overpaid and not as good with the obvious exceptions of Alonso and Coultard (God I hate him).....back in the day sundays would go on for ever and F1 wasa great way to delay doing homework on a wet sunday...

I was a big fan of the Skoda team from the 2001 season, look they even took there own pit crew round with them!

I saw a bit of Sundays race and Hamilton seems to be finding his feet fast, but how much notice are the drivers taking of team orders these days, and does the second rated driver still have to make way for the Superstar?

absolutely none. hamilton will be treated like a second rate driver until next year when the team actually feels like moving him up. what team does he race for anyway?? never really took much notice. and who's his teammate?? its all cause they changed the color of the cars. they all look the same.

Hi mate, he drives for McLaren and his team mate is Fernando Alonso.
So Hamilton will get no special treatment with Alonso as McLaren's no. 1 driver

i kind of figured that, but i wasn't too sure. pitty, maybe raikkonen could change to renault and ferrari could get him. i always like to see a brit in a nice red italian racing suit. does well for the country.

Just a quick update on what's happening in the world of Formula 1.
Tomorrow will be the 7th race of the season at Indianapolis.
Let's hope Lewis Hamiton can carry on his remarkable start to the season as a rookie driver.

His record stands at the moment after 6 races :-

      1st  -  1
      2nd -  4
      3rd -   1

With 11 more Grand Prix left this is how it stands at the moment.

Cheers for that update mrtommo! I was a big fan of F1 when Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansel, Damon Hill, Mika Hakinen and Michael Schumacher where in the cockpit but I kinda went off it over a period of time.

I completed the whole of the F1 '97 on the Playstation and was leading the drivers table in the last race. With 2 corners to go I checked my mirrors and saw Schumacher screaming up behind me. I panicked, twitched and span off into the scenery only to be overtaken and lose the title. So near and yet so far!

I do like a bit of Touring Cars and Superbikes, those guys are loonies!  :o :D

Yeah, just watched the Indianapolis GP and Lewis Hamilton is on fire!
What a fantastic drive today and brilliant performance on his debut season:

      Races so far this season:

1: Ausrtailian GP - 3rd - Lewis' 3rd place is the best performance from a new F1 driver since 1996
2: Malaysian GP - 2nd - Lewis did the fastest lap of the race with 1m36.701 on lap 22.
3: Bahrain GP    - 2nd - Lewis finished on the podium for the third consecutive time.
      4: Spanish GP    - 2nd - Finished 6.7 seconds behind winner
      5: Monaco GP  - 2nd - Finished 4 secs behind winner
6: Canadian GP  - 1st - Started on Pole Position
7: American GP  - 1st - Started on Pole Position

Amazing Stats for an F1 rookie! Well done Lewis!  :champ: :champ: :champ: :champ: :champ: :champ: :champ:
