Sochi reminds me of Valencia ie bloody awful. A drive around a concrete emblazoned Olympic Park in Russia? To me one of the worst tracks on the calendar. Talking heads will blame the new aero regulations but will conveniently forget the fact that Sochi was sh*t in 2014, sh*t in 2015 and sh*t in 2016.

      Bring back the old circuits.

That way the drivers had to be accomplished to most if not all types of driving.

      Remember this type of track?

Loved the old Hockenheimring. Imola was another favourite of mine even though it was notoriously difficult to overtake. Real challenging circuit it was. Love the sound of the V10 engine in the video below.

Just as thought things couldn't get any worse for Alonso at that joke of a team, they have now even failed to start a race!

What a day that was. 1 Million views of a car out on track on its own.

Totally agree. Watched some of his laps yesterday and did a quick scroll through the Indycar youtube page. The accessibility is something else - they've uploaded full races and everything. F1 is so far behind in this era of new media but it's no surprise given Ecclestone's jurassic era attitude to anything that involved the internet. Given f1's incredible heritage and iconic imagery it's unbelievable that they can't provide us some historic content from across the decades.

Bernie got burned once on Digital TV and then avoided it completely when the timing was right to reintroduce it.

Oh yeah, I remember that at the start of the 00s. I seem to recall ITV receiving the F1 Digital feed on a couple of occasions, as a sort of 'sample' to standard/terrestrial viewers. Don't seem to recall it enhancing the coverage that much apart from more radio and lap time coverage.

You could go onboard with any driver you wanted and things like that.
It had no direction. They binned it and went after the Sports Broadcaster money Model instead.
In the process neglecting Social Media up until this season.

How much did it cost to get the channel?

      From Wiki:
Take-up for the service, charged at £12 per race, was low with as little as 9,000 viewers subscribing to see some races, compared with audiences of 3 million viewers for some Formula One races on UK free-to-air television that season.[9]

To increase the flagging take-up, F1 Digital+ ran a promotion where one could get the final six races of the season for only £50 compared with paying £72.

Seems quite hefty that especially during an era where Schumacher was winning every race by 30 odd seconds (or so it seemed). Just looked at the wiki page. 2002 US Grand Prix was where ITV received the digital feed - must have been the race I recalled with the digital extras made available.
