Did you see Hammy before getting out of his car? Shaking his head in disbelief. Out performing the red car (  ;D ) again which we know current faster than the Merc must have Ferrari thinking would they try and get Hammy at any cost??

There's something ( hidden   ) about me that would like to see Hammy in a Ferrari just to put Vettel in his place.  :D Could you see Vettel being classed as a No2 if Hammy was there.  :lmao:

Would love to see Hamilton in a Ferrari. Always suspected that they've never quite respected Hamilton in the way that others so clearly have though ie he's too flashy for them.

      Back to Mercedes country now.
Said Ferrari & Seb had to win Spa and Monza.
      They haven't.
Hamilton on another level to Vettel right now and the power advantage no use this weekend.
All about chassis here and Mercedes and Red Bull showing up Ferrari today.

Do you think that in the pursuit of more speed, Ferrari have slightly neglected chassis development during the season?

I don't think Ferrari have ever had the best chassis.
They have however now overtaken Mercedes in the "Power Unit" stakes,
but Mercedes & Red Bull still arguably the best chassis'.
Imagine what Red Bull would be like if they had a Mercedes/Ferrari unit.

Probably his best qualifying lap that I can remember really when you take into consideration Ferrari have the fastest car and arguably the circuit suits them as well as the red bulls. We're without doubting experiencing the fastest driver in Hamilton we've ever seen.

They don't. They have the best power unit. Big difference.

He is like any top sportsmen in that when the pressure is on he preforms at his best.

Vettel for me is the opposite he's a great driver when its going his way but put the pressure on and he buckles and makes lots of mistakes.

Would not disagree with that. We saw signs of it earlier on in his career. I mean who could forget him sliding off the track in Montreal after cracking under Button's immense pressure late on in the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix?! Even in his championship winning years like 2010 (ramming Button in Belgium 2010 destroying both their races) and 2012 (somehow getting away with an atrocious start in the Brazilian GP to come home in the points and win the championship). Back then you could still argue it was an age thing but now that he is in his 30s it's impossible to make that argument. Don't get me wrong - the man is a sensational talent but he's clearly got a weak spot in his armour that he's failed to rectify.

Hungaroring 2 months ago. Another track where Ferrari were expected to deliver and failed again.

Hamilton usually goes up a gear or two after the summer break and piles up the race victories, so that by the time Vettel strikes back, the championship is beyond him. As looks like happening again.

It's all very different from 6 months ago when Hamilton hadn't won in 6 races and all the gossip at the time was about a "lack of motivation" and imminent "retirement".

Ferrari have finally got rid of Raikkonen, and replaced him with a far more impressive driver, who won't be afraid of challenging Vettel and winning races next season. The future of the sport is less Hamilton v Vettel and more Leclerc v Verstappen.

      Not until it’s mathematically impossible...

Feel for Bottas.. I’m sure down the line he’ll get his reward.. once it’s confirmed that Vettel cannot beat Lewis we will see hopefully Lewis being the wing man for Bottas..

Quite a boring race and dreadful track. It's a shame team orders are allowed, as team mates are restricted from racing, and this is killing the top end of the sport, nothing against LH, but he can't have taken any joy from that... can he?

      I would say yes.
We spoke about how Ferrari needed to win Germany, Spa, Monza.
They failed. Now it swings back to Mercedes territory and we see a 1-2 straight off.
      Game Over.
Shame. It had been a good season up until Germany.
Mercedes have turned the screw and Ferrari folded when it mattered.

Interesting. DC, (similar to Damon Hill on twitter a few weeks back) mentioned on Channel 4 how the vapour that was seen coming out of the back of the Ferrari throughout the summer is no longer visible in the last couple of races.

There was some speculation at the start of the season that Ferrari had their battery as two units.
I wonder was that allowing a second energy output that the FIA have now put a sensor on and as such closed off a loophole. Pity, cause it probably means that Mercedes will see it out comfortably now.
