      World Stadiums/Arenas
      Jul 24, 2009 09:35:37 pm
I'm curious to know which Stadiums / Arenas people on here want to go too.

If you had unlimited funds to see any team(s) play and go to any stadium(s) in the World. Where would you go?

I want to see the Stadiums below.

      1. New Yankee Stadium..
      2. Cleveland Browns Stadium
      3. Anfield
      4. Wembley
      5. New Dallas Cowboys Stadium. I have seen pics from Inside.  UNREAL.  HUGE. Words cant describe it and I hate Dallas.
      6. Craven Cottage
      7. The Den
      8. Old Trafford
      9. Bernebeu
      10. Croke Park
      11. San Siro
      12. Stadio de Olympico
      13. Celtic Park
      14. Ibrox
      15. Emirates

Before I get bombarded w/ "Why Craven Cottage?" or "Why The Den?"... I dont know why.  Craven Cottage because some dude built a professional "Pitch" in his back yard.  It's like putting a house inside "Anfield".  Its cool. How awesome would it be to own that house, sit on the back deck and watch Liverpool play.  Roll out a Barbeque and a Keg of beer. Cook steaks and burgers and watch a match from your deck. I think its brilliant.   The "Den" because its the "Den". It's supposed to be the "worst" ground in the F.A. right?  I may be wrong, but at least I could say I went. Even If I got my ass kicked inside out. As long as I wasn't killed I would be all right with it.

Obviously excluding our humble home, I would say after visiting both stadiums that the Westfalen in Dortmund is an absolute cracking stadium as well as the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Also echo the thoughts of Dmasta and Fletchrox in that I'd like to visit a couple of the cricket grounds in Aus.

      1. Anfield
      2. MCG

My two favourite grounds in the whole world...that I've been to anyway.  And even though i've been to both I'd pick to go to these two again.  Anfield goes without saying, best experience of my life everytime I've been.  Been to the MCG twice, first time was about 7 years ago but it was only a tour and the second time was a ODI Australia v England just after the Aussies won the ashes 5-0.  Nearly 80,000 people and a cracking atmosphere, shame Australia won but I think England went on to win that series.

Of course Anfield is the greatest stadium in the world with the best atmosphere there is. I haven't been to many other stadiums/arenas to be honest. I've been to Villa Park with my old football team for a trip (it was what our manager could afford and plus the tickets were easy to get hold of) I've also been to both Ninian Park which is the home of Cardiff City FC and Cardiff Arms Park which was the old home of the old Cardiff Rugby side. As you can tell I'm Welsh. Never been to the Milennium Stadium but I would like to go. I'm a fan of WWE so would like to go to watch Wrestlemania at say Madison Square Garden.

Wembley is a great stadium would like to go there hopefully to see us play in a glorious final.

Nou Camp is amazing and is home to one of the best clubs in the world

Celtic Park awesome atmosphere and home to one of the most passionate groups of supporters in the world

La Bombonera - Home to Boca Juniors- would like to go and see a Boca vs River game here just to see whether it is really all it's made out to be.

Ataturk Stadium - would be like a pilgrimage.

Wembley is the only stadium I've been to, and it really is a nice stadium.

I know I don't have a basis for comparison, but it's a really nice place to be. And I was high up too ;D

Vtorres living in London, should stop you watching the lads, i live nearly as far away and attend a good majority of the games, distance nor family not liking LFC doesn't stop me attending, why not join a local supporters club?that's how i first started going and from there you meet people.

Best Grounds I've been to would have to be,Anfield, millennium stadium,Stadium of Light..etc

worse grounds I've been to would have to be anthing with running track around it like Athens in 2007.In this country the worse would have to be Bristol Rovers or Luton.etc.

Grounds id like to go to are Real Madrids ground next year when we beat them to Lift No 6. and Hopefully Wembley to see us win another domestic Trophy.

      Would like to go to:

      Wembley
      Nou Camp
      San Siro
      Allianz Arena
      Monte Carlo for the F1
      Arthur Ashe Stadium, Flushing Meadows
      Bird's Nest Stadium
      And Anfield, plenty more times.

The Allianz Arena isn't so good. The design is good, but the atmosphere ist really bad. I was there, when played my hometown club against Munich. The only mood cames from us, cologne fans. And we aren't a great team. ;)

The only stadiums I have been to our:

      1. Anfield
      2. Nou Camp
      3. Vicarage Road
      4. Windsor Park (Linfield FC)
      5. The Oval (Glentoran FC)
      6. Celtic Park (Gaelic football ground in County Derry)
      7. Casement Park (Antrim Gaelic ground in Belfast- I also played their for my school gaelic team in the Ulster Final infront of 20,000 people which was one of the best experiences of my life- we won btw)

Numbers 4 and 5 are my local football grounds. Both are pretty much dumps. Check them out:

I have been too some NASCAR races.  The best atmosphere for motor sports.  I spent 3 days in a camper at Pocono in Pa.( 3 times) You go with 5-6 dudes, BBQ, a couple kegs.  The women are unreal, Its Ass soup as far as you can see. Bikini, topless. Crazy.  Best memories from my youth were those weekends.

For any English dudes, It would be a truly eye opening introduction to Americans.   We get a bad rap all over the world, but a weekend at a NASCAR race would show were not all bad guys. Good hospitality, no fights or bullshit like that. Any weekend of drinking with friends, good food, booze, fast cars and women.  Cant be all bad.  One word of advice...No Girlfriends or Wives!!!  You'll thank me for that one. >:D
