Rafa Benitez believes the tour of Asia has left his players in great condition ahead of a renewed title assault in 2009-10.
The team flew straight home after a 5-0 victory over Singapore in front of another fanatical crowd.
 
Torres rediscovered his scoring touch with a close-range strike while Krisztian Nemeth did his first-team chances no harm with a brace.
 
Andriy Voronin and Albert Riera also got their names on the scoresheet - leaving Benitez with a sense of satisfaction at a job well done.
 
"When you go to Asia sometimes you think it will be tough with all the travelling but it's been really good and the fans have been fantastic. The atmospheres have been great and everyone has wanted to help us," said the boss.
 
"When you see the faces of the fans you know that it was good to come here. The fans were like in Anfield, amazing.

"We've been here for a week and you could see that the team was stronger and fitter.
 
"It was a good game, especially in the second half when we had more space and they were a bit tired. We could go forward and create more chances.
 
"We worked hard and played at a high tempo with a professional mentality.
 
"We won and scored a lot of goals so I think that will make the next game easier.
 
"You can see that some of our players are a little bit tired, but the mentality and attitude was good.
 
"If we can play these kind of games with this intensity, it will be really good to improve the condition of the players. We need to be a little bit sharper but I feel it's just a question of time."

I think the 5-0 win is just a taster of whats to come. Last season we finished of winning the last 5 games or more by 3 or more goals and maybe we can continue the goal scoring form into the new season and with Torres playing more games who knows maybe we could score even more goals.

It was good to see the players going into different tropics, different temperatures and experiencing different humidities. It is going to be difficult to play in adverse weather conditions, and they are not used to playing in humidity of up to 90 percent and such heat. The players broke good sweat, it was good to see them just 85 miles above the Equator this time round.

The team should have alot of confidence now at the start of the season. Well done lads.

Thats right. In games to come Sharpness will improve and by the time Athletico Madrid game comes Torres should hit a hat trick.

On Topic agree with Rafa the tour has made us stronger and will have made the lads that little bit fitter coming into our next round of games, the team bond will have grown as the lads have been bunking down with each other rather than going home after training. Also it may have swelled the coffers a little as I imagine a tour of the far east will be very beneficial on a commercial scale so job well done lads, now lets see us get some momentum going before the start of the next campaign.

The boys will be ready for action come Spurs, no worries. All pre-season is about is fitness, and yes, is is ok to get the wins but no one will be too worried either way. Over the next couple of games we will see a marked improvement.

Pre season results aren't going to determine how we do in the premier league look at totenham last year in pre season they couldn't stop winning then 3months into the premier league they were sitting in the bottom 3.

yes i agree it is all about getting the players fit for the new season and you could also see the improvement in the players after each game.

I am sure the improvement will keep going and we will be ready for the opening game against Spurs.

The tour will also serve to kill some of the Mancs claims to having all the support in Asia. Thailand and Singapore were fanatical about us and this is something that we should all be proud of. We seemed to improve with each game and Im sure everyone will take alot from the experience that they had there. Some of the younger lads shone and it was nice to get a look at the likes of Pacheco and Nemeth alongside Torres. Like bri has said already the most important thing is getting that match fitness so that we are ready to hit the ground running.

Even if man utd have more fans in Asia doesn't matter because if they support the scum there not really football fans are they.

Can definitely see the difference from the 1st game against St Gallen and the last game against Singapore.
