I reckon Albert would of loved to start. Maybe his own reception will be nice.

Very strong side nonetheless although i sincerely thought Kelly would get the nod but i should of seen it coming seeing as i know the result...

Interesting that Rafa has gone with pretty much a full a strength squad and has left Alonso on the bench, pretty much what the majority of us thought almost full strength team and not a million miles away from how we will line up against Tottenham barring new arrivals.

Thought Kelly would have got the nod myself but strong team nonetheless.  Interesting that Alonso is on the bench...wonder if he'll come on at all.  Can't wait to see Gerrard and Torres together again.

I am excited Rafa has fielded a very strong squad and the Alonso's exclusion from the starting 11 may be an indication his on his way. I think this game will be fast flowing and have a lot of goals with Johnson and Kuyt down the right the Espanyol's left back has a lot of work to do and with Gerrard and Torres both starting we could be in for a treat .

Would have prefered Kelly to start in place of San Jose, not been at all impressed with San Jose during pre-season, makes far too many stupid errors and is getting caught out of position more often than not.

I think Voro is just sitting out for Gerrard but the other two...hmm.

Friendlies are sh*t and we learn nothing from them. The only reason they have them is fine tuning fitness. I hate them and think only of Spurs away. A minefield and we will win the league(prayers) if we beat them.

Tough team from Espanyol. Nakamura, Kameni, De la Pena, Pareja, etc.

Going to be a good test for our lads.
