Scored a few belters on there.

His passing looks good. It'll be interesting to see how he plays when he's got a little less time on the ball.

Nice video the more i see of him the more excited i get. He could really help win number 19 and i think that in time he could be a better player than Alonso his passing skills are quite good and his shoots are outstanding.

I hope he does great for us. I really think Rafa did a decent business deal here. But his arrival might mean we can't afford a class winger. Ah well, life is life.

Pleased about the offer being accepted and looks as though he will be a Red soon after Xabi left. Had a feeling it would drag on for a while getting in a replacement.

Hope we have better luck with this Italian though

      Welcome Aquilani.

Just woke up to this news - fantastic news no?

After just a night's sleep there's news all over that we have signed Aquilani, subject to a medical.

      Best of luck here.

Hang on, why does that link give me something else different - looks like I'm way behind, my liverpoolfc.tv is lagging.

Clicking the link I got this.

      AQUILANI TO DISCUSS REDS TRANSFER
      Liverpool FC 05 August 2009

Liverpool FC today confirmed they have received permission from AS Roma to discuss personal terms with Italian international Alberto Aquilani.
The Reds concluded their discussions with Roma for permission to approach the player once the sale of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid was finally agreed.

Aquilani, 25, who has yet to complete a medical, is expected to feature heavily for Italy in next year's World Cup finals.

Rafa Benitez said: "Alberto is a very good player who has a winning mentality and great experience in both Serie A and the Champions League.

"He has long been recognised as a top class talent in Italy, captaining his country at both Under 19 and Under 21 levels before establishing himself in the senior national side."

He does look more versatile than Xabi, clearly an excellent striker of the ball and can hit it with a lot of power. Some great passing and build up play in that video on page 3.

Rafa seems confident too that he's the right man, Alberto has kept quiet on the transfer so It'll be exiting to know what he makes of the club.

Welcome Alberto, hope it doesn't take long for you to settle on Merseyside. All we ask is that you give it plenty, after all you will be playing for Liverpool FC.

      All the best ;)

17 is free now as well. He might do that thing some players like to do. 1 + 7 = 8.
