Concerts You'll Never Get to Go to

I didn't see any topics like this one, so I figured I'd start it...

Name a band/artist you wish you could have seen, but never will be able to for whatever reason.

For me it's Elvis, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash & The Clash. Obviously, I'll never get to see any of them because they're dead.  Also, Black Flag because Greg Ginn would never do it. I know I have more, but they're not coming to me at the moment...

So, what about you?

Probably the original Guns N Roses. Sweet Child O' Mine and November Rain are up there with the best songs of all time. I don't think I'll ever see Axl and Slash on the same stage.

I thought the same about Blink 182 (their break up was pretty bad) but they're recording and touring again soon, so you can never definitely say never. (Although I do agree, they probably won't )

Queen. Brian May and Roger Taylor joined the Foo Fighters on stage at Hyde Park (personally, one of the best I've been to) but it's not the same. Queen with Freddie Mercury at Wembley Stadium has got to be up there with some of the biggest concerts ever, regardless of your taste in music.

The Jam, would have loved to have seen them.

Saw the Jam live, they were superb.

Saw Queen live at the Liverpool Empire.......Freddie just bossed the crowd, what an awesome entertainer he was.

I've always loved Madonna, really would liked to have seen her at her best.

And although I saw the Jackson Five when I was really young, I would loved to have seen Michael around the time of Beat It and Billie Jean era, that would have been superb.

I have to say that I'd have liked to see Joy Division and The Smiths back in the day, too.

The Libertines. Although it's not impossible as they're talking about getting back together I think.

I had a chat with Mani in my local boozer a few months back. He said him, Ian and Reni were all game for a 20th Anniversary reunion but John Squire wasn't having it. I think he said John didn't like touring one bit, although I was a bit pissed.

Saw MJ at Aintree. Well, I didn't actually see him, what with me being little and about ten miles from the stage, but I was there like, you know?

It's deffo got to be JC - Johnny Cash. What a true legend the man is! Sorely missed.

Cas, I saw Madonna in 1987 at Wembley - we were about 5 rows back and she was superb.

The proper Jam. I've saw Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler but it's not the same without Weller.

Agree, seen the vid and got it on CD. One hell of a boss live band.

That would be my pick as well, love their music and think they would be a great show. Another one would be the Eagles as well.

I saw The Police at the NEC in Birmingham, they were wonderful, I was in love with Sting  

DLS I still have my Jam T'shirt and programme from the concert, I don't think I've ever been so exhausted after a concert

Ah well since I won't get the Jam, I'm getting the closest thing to them in terms of sound, attitude and song meaning when the Enemy come to Liverpool in November.

Ms Gerrard I had a ticket for The Police at the NEC but couldnt go at the last minute I think it was 1984.
