Overall I'd say he's been a success here, but he's starting to look more and more shaky now.

Problem with soto is, he is great -v- certain type of striker, but we have had to play him due to injuries, not when it suits the game. !

Exactly, put him up against anyone with good movement and pace and he will always struggle.

Like him as a player but he's getting caught out more often now.

I think he did.  I'm sure a more costly CB was lined up, but H&G/Purslime said 'no money.'

Played great when called upon against the Arsenal. Headed every ball, never let van Persie turn him, was strong in the the air as usual and even got up front on occasions (Suarez should've crossed the ball to Soto when he was clear on the six-yard line).
I think he is slowly building his confidence again after those penalty give-aways against west brom and Braga. He is a valuable squad player to have and is just the player we need to come on when our opposition is getting desperate and lumping balls into our box. Keep him. You will not find a better player of his type. Especially with his experience which all the young lads can learn from.

He's got a 1 year extension I believe I'm sure it activated because he played a set number of games, I may be wrong but I'm sure I'm right.

Thought he was pretty poor this season and was expecting him to be moved on

Thought he was not great this season and he capped it off with an absolute shocker against West Brom. He may have come on as a substitute for an injured player but even though it was one of the worst individual performances this year.  I think Kenny saw that as too much and so that really spelt the end of him for the year. He'll be handy for another team maybe but he doesn't have a future here at Liverpool.

I think it was a bit overhyped at times. The defence the whole first half of the season was sub standard as a result of the awful regimes going on in training. But when the defence got up to a good level again, he was out of his depth.

we cannot deny he was useful this year. he stood tall under roy and wore the shirt with pride and every time he came onto the field he gave his all. YNWA sotis and if you are moved on i hope you find success at a new club

I think it's a bit unfair to judge him on his last few games, he was immense for us for a good part of the season, even Alan Hansen acknowledged this when he said: "you wouldn't expect Kyrgiakos to make such mistakes" (against West brom and Braga) meaning that it was just a blip.

Let's not forget that he was a snip at just £3 million with much lower wages than Skrtel, Aurelio, Carra, and they've made a few mistakes too in the season: penalties, poor marking leading to goals, failed clearances, etc.....so let's not be too harsh on Kyrgiakos' handful of mistakes in a generally solid season.

Also, he's an international, a Euro 2004 European cup winner with Greece, played in major tournaments and qualifying campaigns over a decade, played in the Bundesliga in Germany, played in Greece and Scotland too, he has VAST experience which will rub off on the younger players. His experience and influence on younger players was one of the reasons Rafa brought him in (look at the past posts in this thread for proof of this), and we are starting to see the fruits of this influence with a good crop of young defenders coming through...

After the Ngog/Henderson deal I wouldn't be surprised to see us offer Sotis to Blackburn in exchange for Phil Jones with a bit of bread thrown in as well.
