UEFA considering Champions League for cup winners

Personally I think it would be a great idea. When you see teams like Bolton & Reading putting out their reserves for the FA Cup you know somethings wrong. It would also make the league more interesting if the big 4 were battling it out for only 3 places.

Not convinced it will make much difference in recent years its been won by one of the big for all bar twice

I think it is more of an achievement to finish 3rd or 4th in the Prem as a team has to be consistant over a longer period. but take your point about livening up the cup competition why not go one step further and the winner of the FA cup plays the winner of the Carling cup for a place this might liven both comps up.

was there not talk of Platini only giving us three CL places anyway and if one went to the FA cup comp taking one place would that not leave places for the top 2 only.

They wouldn't be able to take a CL place off us now I don't think. The big 4 here have too much power in the game & they wouldn't let it happen.

i think it's just another money spinner for uefa. why not call it the best 3 or 4 teams in any given nation, plus the cup winners plus the runners up in the leyland daf trophy cup! i think it detracts from the status & prestige of old big ears that uefa are even considering this. if they want cup winners in, why not bring back the cup winners cup?

Why are they changing everything? Pisses me off. Leave everything as it is.
