best part of 3 days in hospital, on an antibiotic drip.

Home now, with a sh*t load more antibiotics, then docs again next week for a check up on it.

Pretty fu**ed up few days, but all good now.

      Flipping heck!

Nice to hear you're on the mend!

Cheers mate - thing is, I didn't feel ill or anything - but I suppose I would have if the infection had spread, which it was starting to.

Caught it just in time it seems.

I'll think twice next time my knee swells up

It can just happen spontaneously. Thought it might be the case when you posted, good luck! Glad it's getting sorted!

at least 7 days of Flucloxacillin and then more checks - pain in the arse, but better than the alternative

The thing that has pissed me off most is the bruising from the drip needle thingy

      Canula?

^^^ Yup! They would have given you an initial dose of antibiotics through it, as they're more effective that way.

Did my back in at work on Friday, been on the painkillers since.

Doctor says it's a lumbago, so I have a week off, and have to see a physio.

Was looking forward to having my back massaged all week, but instead, I have a bloke who pulls me about in positions that really hurt, and makes me do weird exercises that also really hurt.  :(

I'm a bit worried, because I spend all day (at work) bending over and picking stuff up, and there isn't enough room too manoeuvre, so I can't bend my knees correctly most of the time, and instead have to arch my back.

Not sure what I can really do about it.  :-\

Do you have someone who's responsible for health and safety at work? If so, have a word. There are regulations regarding moving and handling and it sounds like the place you work at are breaking them from what you have said.

You really need to look after your back mate.

Oh the F***ing irony of my post being the last comment in here and saying that!

Came off my bike this morning. Escaped unscathed thanks to the body protection, all except for my lower back which twisted as the bike landed on top of me. I can walk but, slowly and only in a style that makes me look like I've shat myself. Am in agony at the moment and the analgesia I've got ain't doing a thing.

The good news is, my bikes fine (it landed on something soft), the bad news is, I've got my cbt test first thing in the morning.  :-[

So 3 times in 2 days is officially overdoing it.

Pulled a muscle in my back stretching after my session today.

Have taken some painkillers, they appear to be doing F**k all.

If it gets too bad, get yourself to the docs. Sounds like you may need something stronger than you can buy over the counter and/or something that'll relax the muscle. Hope it eases of soon anyhow.

My sis is trained in sports injuries.
      She's calling over later.

      I'm cheap like that.
Plus since she's roped me into the Warrior Dash I'm blaming her.

fu**ed my back at work last month, had two weeks off and I'm still feeling the pain now!

Get well soon mate, it really is crippling, isn't it? Felt about 80 years old myself, but it did make my wife laugh the positions I was getting in just to get up off the sofa and stuff! :D

But it did make me realise how brave Danny Agger is, what with all the back problems he's had. No wonder he thought about giving up the game for a while!

My sister gave me an ice massage yesterday.
Was brutal, but gave me a break from the pain last night.
      Agony this morning though.

It will be worth it mate. Trust me.

I have a bit of pain running up the top of my foot right down to my toes. Only happens if I bring my toes in towards my foot. Anyone have any idea what it may be? The back of my ankle was swollen a bit after a knock last week in training. May be related to that. We have a Blackburn physio who plays for us and he says it may be a bit of tendinitis.

Well the hamstring I slightly strained last week on my return to football has gone completely tonight in the first minute... Bollocks, thought it was ok but obviously not.

      Very painful.

Seriously though, hope you can recover soon!

First minute - must have been horribly frustrating.
