AFL Finals 2009

Well after 22 rounds and 176 games the top 8 teams are now confirmed and we're down to the business end of the season.



Here's the 4 matches to be played in Week 1:

1st Qualifying Final

ST KILDA (1st) v COLLINGWOOD (4th)

2.40pm Sunday at the MCG


2nd Qualifying Final

GEELONG (2nd) v WESTERN BULLDOGS (3rd)

2.30pm Saturday at the MCG


1st Elimination Final

ADELAIDE (5th) v ESSENDON (8th)

8.15pm (AEST) Friday at AAMI Stadium 


2nd Elimination Final

BRISBANE LIONS (6th) v CARLTON (7th)

7.30pm Saturday at the Gabba


So who do you think will win the 2009 Premiership? My heart says the Bulldogs but my head says Geelong.

I would put my money on Geelong, i think Saints may get the jitters at the last hurdle, seem to have in the last few games. Would love to see the Doggies get it though.

Yeep and i have had to hear about that F***ing crap ever since. Both years they got lucky, were never a great team just got it together on the right day. Wouldn't it be nice to knock em out this year

I did hear about it, im from a family of 6. I am a Port man.. and then the rest are all passionate Crows! So i did hear about it : "Oh dave, you just have to see Burton's mark!" Annoying!

They usually play sh*te in finals so hoping for more of the same, Essendon have the ability to pull off upsets so heres hoping.

Not the biggest AFL fan but i watch it a fair bit because its on 3 times a weekend here and then again at around midnight on Friday/Saturday.

I do like the Blues and Dogs but i hate the Swans because they take our NRL fans so i'm glad they missed out. The Fev will have to be on fire if Carlton are to have a chance but he is in sparkling form as of late.

Hopefully Aka and co. can bring their A game, they are in great form.

Not being in Australia im kinda sheltered from the AFL media, whats been the reaction to Hawthorns poor season backing up the premiership?

The only thing I heard, mind you I haven't really been listening  , is that The Hawks are considering seriously of giving up their Number 9 pick in the Draft to get a seasoned pro ....they're trying to get the big man Aaron Sandilands from Fremantle and also weighing up whether to take Barry Hall out of retirement to have a three pronged attack of Buddy, Roughie and Bazza in the forward line.

I do know they are shattered they're not playing finals but don't give a sh*t about those pricks.

Channel Bruce hasn't had the rights to The Grand Final for about 6 years mate, what have you been watching
