We (bulgarians) also does not like the government, the justice system and the people who rule us, etc, but we cannot do anything, because every candidate for a big position is the same. All of them are corrupt. They just want to steal money. But this does not make us (the normal people) bad.

Liverpool Football Club today welcomed the news that Michael Shields has been pardoned by the Justice Secretary Jack Straw.
The 22-year old Liverpool supporter was sentenced to ten years in prison in Bulgaria for an attack on a barman in 2005, but he has always maintained his innocence and supporters have campaigned tirelessly to clear his name.
 
Today's announcement, clearing Michael of any involvement in the attack, meant those efforts have not been in vain and Liverpool Football Club was today delighted to hear the news.
 
A club statement said: "It's great news that Michael has been granted a pardon by the Justice Secretary Jack Straw.
 
"We know how difficult the last four years have been for Michael and his family and everyone at the club, the staff, the players and the fans have tried to support them during this time.
 
"We hope now that Michael and his family will be able to move on with their lives and look to the future."

Absolutely made up for the lad. I don't think it's worth moaning about how long it took to get him released, we should just celebrate with Michael that justice has at last been served and an innocent man is free to rejoin his family and friends.

For everyone bashing Bulgaria and not realizing that a fellow Red Mario1 appears to be from there is being a tw*t. Judging a people and country by their government is extremely closed minded. As for the pardon, delighted to hear Michael is finally free, his first meal out will be the best meal he has ever tasted...I hope he eats something good
