I wonder would the squad be entitled to a NHS medical card , it would certainly save the club a few quid .

Apparently we approached Dr Evil, but FSG baulked when he stuck his pinky to the corner of his mouth and demanded one million dollars.

But he's a doctor, nothing to do with the day to day fitness of the players or putting any training schedules together for their week to week fitness levels.
      You sure?

Melwood-based Dr Iqbal was responsible for the medical treatment of all players. He would put prospective new signings through their medicals and sit on the bench on matchdays.

He also assisted the club's medical and sport science teams in devising daily fitness programmes for each player.

      Club doctor leaves Liverpool
Liverpool FC today confirmed that Dr Zaf Iqbal has left the club for personal family reasons. We wish him and his family well for the future.

Commenting on today's announcement, Dr Zaf said: "I have enjoyed my time here and shared some great experiences with Liverpool FC and worked with some amazing staff and players, many who are true legends of the game. I am sad to be leaving behind an excellent medical and sports science team, but I have to do what is right for me and my family.

"I wish the best for all those connected with this fantastic club and especially Brendan, coaching staff, medical staff and players and hope they can build on the successes of last season."

I don't see what all the hype is over Zaf leaving.
Is it because it became a thing to have his pic all over twitter when a player signed?

Certainly a loss, but then so was Peter Brukner and people didn't seem to have to go on about it as much.

      Agree.

I couldn't care less who the club doctor is and remember the day when I didn't even know his name never mind what he looked like.

      I honestly couldn't care less.

I'm guessing we will have a club doctor when he leaves and if he's already left we already have one.

No we don't Si.  Zaf left at the beginning of the year and hasn't been replaced yet.  We hire one in for home match days as is our legal requirement.

I guess it's not a massive big deal but maybe we're looking for a very specific replacement, someone young with potential and cheap wages that we can develop?

So there is still someone fulfilling the club doctor duties.

      Really couldn't give a sh*t Debs.

I don't rember worrying too much about the club doctor when I was a teenager really getting into the club.

Only on home match days Si and only at Anfield.  No Dr at Melwood though, not that it really matters as you say.
