      Adebayor's Celebration

Was I the only one who absolutely pissed themselves?

I was literally wetting myself at the screen - probably because it was so bad!

;D, I saw him running 100 yards to the Arsenal section and the Gooners started throwing things.

Can't say much about him though. I think he was harshly treated when he was at Arsenal.

That was F***ing boss, wasn't it?

Loved the way that he ran 90 yards just to have a dig at the Arsenal fans. Admittedly what he did was wrong, but you can't fault him for it either.

It was funny but it was wrong, he was openly inciting the crowd and in this day & age of modern fotball where families attend football matches that kind of behaviour has no place in football, it was not that long ago things got ugly between Millwall and West Ham and something like that is just the kind of thing that can provoke violence at games. The only good thing that came out of it IMO was Adebayor came out and apologised immediately after the game and was man enough to admit his mistake.

Woah . I'm so pissed off that I missed this and the Liverpool game . It was disrespectful for him to do that and also stamping on RVP was very bad too but for him I guess it was just too tempting .

Van Persie reaction to Adebayor incident

Van Persie reaction to Adebayor incident

Robin van Persie has issued the following statement following an incident with Emmanuel Adebayor at Saturday's game:

"I am sad and disappointed by my former team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor's mindless and malicious stamp on me during today's match.

"We are both professional footballers and I know that the game is physical, I too have made hard and sometimes mis-timed challenges but never with the intention of hurting an opponent. He set out to hurt me today.

"I knew he was aiming for a collision because he changed the angle of his body to allow contact to be made.  He moved backwards when his natural momentum would have taken him forward. I find that deeply disrespectful. He has shown a real lack of class today, to me and the fans.

"I do feel lucky that I have not suffered a greater injury. The contact was only centimetres from my eye. I have not received an apology from him, there were no words exchanged afterwards. He had his own agenda today and that is bad for football. It's bad for the game we all love.

"I want to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the result of today's match.  We do not hide from that disappointment but I need to speak out about his behaviour."

Yeh it was discusting, I know Van Persie's challenge was mis timed but you can see he was genuinely  going for the ball and there was no intent to take the man. I'm not %100 sure but wasn't Adebayors and Van Persie's relationship at Arsenal supposed to be rather volatile ?, I'm sure I read something about them often having bust ups.

I didn't think it was deliberate at first, but then at a certain angle you can see he did jerk his foot out.

Adebayor is rapidly becoming a complete c**t, if he wasn't one already.

Joined City (enough said, for some!), but that goal celebration, whilst highly amusing, is totally disrespectful and could seriously have caused a riot, he should be charged by the FA IMO.

As for the stamp, the first view I had of it, it looked unintentional, but there are replays from different angles showing he clearly changes the direction and movement of his leg to hit Van Persie, there's no doubt in my mind. What a fuckwit.

Quality i would love to do that in front of Utd fans.

      Pissed myself!

The stamp was shocking, and he should get a hefty ban for that.  The celebration............. ........F***ing hilarious!  Usain Bolt wouldn't have caught him running down to the gooners, and the way he sat in there while they were throwing all sorts of sh*t at him....funny as F**k!!

I don't think he quite knew the potential consequences of that 'celebration'. Absolutely ridiculous.

As for the stamp, definitely deliberate. He should get a lengthy ban for both things combined.

In Australia we have AFL or Aussie rules football where when someone loses his temper its called "white line fever"

Clearly, and even by his own admission afterwards during his press conference Adeybayou admitted that he lost control of himself "in the moment"  when referring to the goal celebration, and apologised.
However, there was no confession, nor apology for stamping on RVP, so it appears he intends to deny that this was a deliberate act.

He has admitted that when his emotions take over he has no control over himself, so clearly he has the equivolent of  "white line fever"  when he steps onto the pitch.

The FA need to send a stern message to this player who has lost control of himself not once, but twice in the same match.  A hefty ban of 4 matches would seem about right, and compulsary attendance of an anger management course.

Totally agree with you there mate, he made an absolute fool of himself.  For anyone that thinks its funny, how would you feel if one of our lads left us (for wages/money) and did that to us? You would be really pissed off about it.
