Awesome weekend for LFC.

This has been a great weekend for the Mighty LFC and it easily could of been tragic.  It was just a matter of luck that we were in 5th place and the top 4 teams in front of us played eachother.  Even with Chelsea about to secure the win v Spurs', everything has gone the way we needed it.  

What really would of screwed us was a loss at W/Ham and (2) draws..But that didn't happen. First we won and took 3 points from W/Ham, which is not easy, Upton Park is a tough park to play at. 2nd. Man City lose 3 points on us and Spurs lose 3 points on us.  

Am I scared about Chelsea? Yes, Their playing on all cylinders and are really good right now. But we gained 2 spots in the table and those early season losses seem to be behind the players right now.  Great weekend.

I'd describe it as solid. We went out there and did our job and got three points. Our closest challengers however both picked up maximum points as well.

I looked at it as a plus for us. We moved from 5th to 3rd and Picked up a great win at W/Ham. I would rather of been in the position were in now then have all 4 top teams get points and remain in the 5th spot. For the opposition, a loss is always better than a draw.

City and Spurs, both in front of us by 3 points lose 3 points.  If Man U or City won it didn't matter in the table. I would prefer City but I'll take it.

Yeah we had a great win at West Ham and it'll be an enormous confidence booster for the lads but it was a far from perfect display and there's still a lot of work to do especially in defence.

Chelsea are looking frankly unstoppable at the moment and like it or not ManUre are drawing upon their experience and the seemingly neverending supply of extra time minutes at Old Toilet to get victories. Arsenal are looking excellent too.

There's a long way to go and we're showing signs of pulling ourselves together after the bad start to the season but there's a long way to go yet and we need to keep it up coz this season will be far tougher than last.

I'll second that. IMO Scum and Chavski are our main rivals and they both picked up 3 points.  Not a disaster, but certainly not 'awesome'

I agree. Not awesome yet, but a nice slow build of momentum. We'll fully click soon.

We are conceding silly goals at the moment which is very much out of character for us.

Can't wait to get Agger and Aquilani starting. It'll polish us up.

Bit far saying it was an awesome weekend for us, I'd say ok weekend at best.

Yes we won but Chelsea and United both won when the best reuslt for us would have been for them to draw with the other teams above us.

Also although we saw improved performances from a fair few players, Nando in particular and seeing Lucas have another solid game we also saw our defence get taught a lesson which is very worrying as our back line hasn't looked good at all as of yet this season.

An awesome weekend for us will be when the results go in our favour and we see the team playing like we did in the last 3 or so months of last season.

When is a match not a match? When the referee changes the rules at Old Toilet to "lets keep playing until the Scummers score so Sir Al-Hic doesn't shout at me". Scandalous

"Awesome" may of been a bit more than I Intended.  However, It could of been so much worse. They played good and they moved from 5th to 3rd in points.

2 teams in front of us on the league table lose and drop 3 points each and we win a tough away game. Torres has a solid game and our next league game is Hull which should be an easy 3. 

If it was any other weekend where 2 of the top 4 teams in front of us lose and we win a tough away match, we would be celebrating a little more then we are. Too me, Its been a great weekend.

I think the only good thing this weekend is three points for us. F**k everyone else, if we aren't winning games then we won't be winning the league. And we won a game we could well have lost the way we were defending. I don't care about anyone else. I just want to see us winning. Keep it up, Red Men.
