Theres one place where about 90% of bad football decisions are made and thats the F.A. Always seem to mess up when bringing in an England manager

So, how do you explain that Cantona - the great I am according to you - used to sit in his local boozer regularly with all the old fellas of the village talking football? How many of your today's millionaires do you know that do that?

      How regular was that Johnno?

Obviously Cantona lost any respect I had for him when he done that infamous diving kick. Total disgrace.

My dislike for him was all about how good he was for you's and also how arrogant he came across to me. If he came in my local chatting football and being noble then that obviously would have changed my veiw on him a bit. But that's not the case and I doubt that that would have ever happened anyway - him going down a boozer in Norris Green... ;) :D

Unfortunately for me Eric never invited me out for a pint so I wouldn’t have the insight into the sainted ones drinking habits that you obviously have, my opinion is based on what I saw and heard through the media and matches I have seen him play in and it is on those facts alone that I grew to detest the man.
Before you use the argument “it’s just because he was a Manc” let me add that although I dislike Man Utd as much as the next Reds fan I am not a blind football bigot and over the years I have enjoyed watching many United players from Coppell and Macari to Scholes and Giggs (not when they play us obviously!) so my dislike for him wasn’t because he played his games in Salford, it was just him I thought he was a tw*t and that is my opinion, I mean how many United fans would you expect to wax lyrically about Souness or Fowler?

Johnowhite I know one premiership footballer who can top cantona, Carragher, when he broke his leg he travelled to all liverpool's away games with the same lads from bootle he hung around with as a kid on the coaches and even sat with the fans in the away ends, slagging off Diouf in th process.

Also known to have given plenty of money to a lot of local charities in the bootle/liverpool areas

Fernando Torres leaving LFC to join a "big club"

      Spurs not selling Modric

agree with all except the modric point.

He is quality and to sell him if I were a Spurs fan would be the utter death nail in a even more mediocre season than they are surely to have.

Prob for Arry is that even if they sold Modric and got about 40 million I really doubt if they could get even close to his quality....not that he is that amazing but because I don't reckon they could attract it.
I think last season was their high point and they really missed out by not really shedding out right at the beginning of the window....think its them and Arse for the 5th spot now....see us taking 3rd away from the Chavs at the very least.

Fabio Capello reinstated Terry as captain

      Liverpool selling Xabi Alonso

      Chelsea signing Fernando Torres

Giving Christian Poulsen, Paul Konchesky and Massimo Taibi pro contracts! Though the latter was amusing!

      Again I utterly agree!

Footy is littered with so many stupid choices...thats why it is so funny and fascinating i reckon.

      I would flippantly add:

      - Mr and Mrs Neville Neville's decision to ever have kids.
      - Nani's hairdresser.
      - Neil Ruddock's fitness regime
      - Michael Owens lack of decency
      - Roy Hodgson's inability to keep his mouth shut and realise the stature of the club he was given the inappropriate opportunity to manage.

Can't really agree with these two though. As much as their sh*t penalties angered me, at least they had the balls to step up.

Only one for me. Liverpool not waiting for Kenny to recover from the stress. The whole history of this club and the one down the East Lancs over the past 20 years would be so different now.

Yep. not only would we have done much better but we may well have still been riding high when the SKY and PL money poured in and there's no way the Scum would be sitting on 19 titles now.
