So I've bought my Hubby a bike for Christmas, I need to borrow his car (a Volvo Estate) to put it in, as it won't fit in mine.
I've arranged with Halfords to pick it up tomorrow afternoon, so I say to him, "Can I use your car tomorrow afternoon"? He knows I'm not keen on driving it, as it's like driving a bus :
so he says, "erm...yes, why"? so I say, "I've got to pick some big stuff up for my Dad, and he can't get it in his car (punto) and I can't get it in mine, so I need the Volvo, is that alright"?
He looked at me very suspiciously, and I know he doesn't believe me, so he's asking me all these questions, like what big stuff have you got to get for your Dad? and I'll pick it up for him :
and stuff like that, I don't want him to know what I've got him as he's had a bit of a rough time lately with being off work with stress and he wants to cycle from Lands End to John 'O' Groats next year.
If I manage to keep it a surprise till Christmas Day, it will be a miracle.
