Vaio's are disgustingly pretty machines, however I'd advise anyone against them unless you like tinkering around with software/drivers.
Sony's update packs are awfull, always several versions behind current drivers, and generally quite cumbersome - They also insist you send them the laptop to have certain drivers installed ??? and then take their sweet time about it.
My missus has one which she bought before we met, and in the last two years, I've stripped pretty much all the Sony drivers and installed first party ones for the different components - Her gfx card driver was 7 versions behind the current one, and Sony's most up to date offering was 4 versions behind. This was all about a year and a half ago though, and if your not a streamlining, system neatfreak like me then it'll probably be ok.

[edit] Speaking purely as a part time system builder, that spec is quite good, apart from the GFX card - If you plan on doing any gaming/video editing/other graphical stuff, that integrated card will severly hamper you - however for most other stuff (web browsing, office etc), it'll be bang on.
