It might be your internet provider. I know people who have had similar problems and have just changed their internet provider and it has worked. Sorry that i can't be more of a help.

Start using Firefox for a start mate should make browsing the web a lot easier also defrag and do a disk clean up on your laptop. For the ps3 if not already use an Ethernet cable.

Firefox is a type of internet browser like Internet explorer and Safari, it's what I use, it's a lot faster and doesn't get suck like the other as often. Also using an ethernet is a good option as you won't get interference like you do with wireless which is a pain in the ass.

Firefox is the best browser out there more secure and more fast. Try it http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html

Yep you would need the wireless box connected in your room and use the Ethernet cable from wireless to ps3 and your connection should be more stable.  Hope i helped.

Just got FireFox, working well to be fair :P
Won't be able to use the ethernet cable as having a port in my room would mess everything else up
eg the 1 in my brothers room, if that is in use you cant use the main telephone
      Thanks everyone :)
But i think a few people have been messing up with their ps3's recently

I dont think the PS3 servers are all that great. I know that Virgin Media with me arent the quickest as downloads take a while. However on doing a speed test I maanage to get 6mb??
I have put my PS3 in DMZ and have upgraded firmware on my router. I get a signal of 85% but get numerous error messages - sometimes im signed in for a while and it will go or it will go every few minutes.

Im down to two options - needing a new router or new ISP (which is a no go unfortunately). I've heard that the internet plugs solve everything by using the electrics in your house as a network.

On some forums, it is stated that some userIDs get corrupted, no more than 20 friends helps and apparently keeping the cache on the borwser also helps. Ensuring Upnp apparently helps.

Look up "putting PS3 in DMZ" on google , Its basically placing your PS3 outside the firewall so the signal isn't broken down before it gets to the PS3.

Right I'm on a guide, and basically its opening up your firewall? And won't that let certain things through? e.g viruses? etc...

      EDIT :
+ I dont get this part : "Default Router - Is the internal IP Address of your router.
To get the exact ip of your router you should go to
      Start
      Run
      cmd [Hit Enter]
Type in ipconfig and hit enter, this should come up with all the ip addresses to do with your computer and the network. The address you will need to enter in this option is listed as "Default Gateway". "

Its basically how you get the exact ip of your router....But i dont have a clue how to do it :/

Press start on your computer, click on run, type cmd and press enter.
A little black box will open, ignore what's written in it, type ipconfig and press enter and your ip address will come up under the title default gateway.
