Where do we go from here?

Saturday 17Th October and were 7 points off the leaders sitting in 8th position. Three points and third in the Champs League, not looking convincing in a area we have excelled in under Rafa. Our 2 best players are out of action, and our biggest signing of the summer still unavailable. Our owners still making false promices and no new stadium. No transfer funds to talk really speak of so no new players coming in Jan.

Sounds dire huh - but this is the reality at LFC

Today I think Rafa us just how light weight our squad is. On that performance I couldn't see any of the starting outfield players making the cut at teams we would have normally classed as well below us - namely Aston Villa or Tottenham. Not even Carra getting a shout at CB crocked Spurs - Babel couldn't hold down a spot at either! Lucas is certainly not good enough and Vorinin may well have done well at Hertha, but again he is not a first team player in any prem team.

This is not a bashing thread, I'm merely asking where do we go from here. On other threads people are asking for the heads to roll - owners, players - even Rafa is coming under the spotlight. I agree with the owners, but Rafa? If we do need something new do where do we begin? Would the owners back a new manager? Can we replace him with some one decent?

Any ideas?

Actually, I think something that must be changed is all the lightweights who don't get regular games should be lashed in the reserves. If they're gonna be called upon in important games, then they should be playing some football in the meantime.

When will we finally sell some of the rubbish players, accept the financial loss and start building a decent team? I would gladly see Bable off for 5Mill, Lucas for 3M and get an 8M rated player.

We can't improve the squad with adding players so we must look at other ways to improve things.

Don't know how anyone could be so stupid as to critisise Voronin on todays performance. He came on, did his best and didn't put a foot wrong. We've been in bad positions under Rafa before and we've always pulled through and came out stronger. The same is gonna happen this time.

Exactly my point - too many time we havent turned up! Perhaps time to bring in the youth of today - I bet they would be up for it!

We need to stop having to sell to buy, it's as simple as that.

We need to have at least 2 top quality players in each position on the pitch. Yes, we need to be ruthless and axe the players who aren't good enough, and get in some more players who can do the job that is required of them.

Rafa shouldn't be sacked, in fact if he had the players he'd wanted in the first place, we'd have the lieks of Arshavin, Simao, Aguero, Dani Alves etc.

Honestly, I think we should give these youngsters a punt - 3 losses bounce and no signs of improvement. Against Man Utd going out with 'kids' might just work.

Yeah spot on Eem. Was watching some piss poor "Soccer News" here in the US and they made a point, if you can call it that, that we should be performing better since we "spent" 40 million in the summer. Failed to mention the fact we sold that much as well basically : Even the press here seem against us.

I'm up for that I might even get a ticket and it would mean goodbye to our American cousins.

We go nowhere because we cant sack a manager who has done well with limited means and a new manager would want to spend money we dont have.Stick Gerrard,Torres and Aqualani in and hey presto good team.
Personally I feel sorry for Rafa he has had his hands tied and he has also been gagged how much more he will take is anyones guess.

Agreed I think he should start, and Ngog come on at some time.

I don't think 'playing the kids' against United is a particularly clever idea at all.
