      That stuff about Torosidos the Greek lad has done the rounds before...the stumbling block is the transfer fee or Liverpools inability to pay it.

      I hear we've signed Roger Hunt .  At 71, he's getting on a bit, but doesn't want any wages, so Hicks and Gillette are delighted with this bit of business.  Hicks said, earlier today, "Hunt has a great goalscoring record, 245 in 404 games in his first spell at the club, so this is a major coup for us.  It proves we are serious about taking the club forward."

      What do people think?  He has a proven track record.

      Wigan signed Victor Moses for £2.5M, I think he was linked to us before... promising youngster.

      - David Healy has joined Ipswich on loan from Sunderland.

      - West Ham have signed Mido on loan from El Zamalek on a four-month deal.

      - Nyron Nosworthy has been allow to leave Sunderland and join Sheffield United on loan.

      - Hannover have signed Ivory Coast striker Arouna Kone on loan from Sevilla.

      - Fulham have signed promising left-sided player Christopher Buchtmann from Liverpool for a reported £100,000.

      - Mancini has joined AC Milan on loan until the end of the season, the Rossoneri have confirmed on their official website.

      - Marcus Bent has joined QPR on loan from Birmingham. The Hoops are Bent's 13th team in his journeyman career.

      - Daniel Cousin has left Hull City on loan to Greek side Larissa with a view to a permanent deal.

      - Newcastle have completed the signing of Leon Best from Coventry on a three-and-a-half year deal.

      - West Ham have completed the signing of South African striker Benni McCarthy.

      - Nicky Shorey has joined Fulham on loan from Aston Villa.

      - Highly-rated youngster Victor Moses has agreed to join Wigan in a deal said to be worth £2.5 million.

      - Struggling La Liga side Xerez have made two loan signings in the shape of Matias Alustiza from Argentinean side Chacarita Juniors and Nicolas Vigneri from Mexican outfit Cruz Azul.
