Cheers for the support fellas, I have no probs with taking a fine and putting it down to experience but they didnt offer a fixed penalty notice they went to give us a penalty notice which does stay on record for 5 years and you have to declare it when applying for jobs! Even though it wasnt the greatest experience being dragged down the steps by that tw@t it could have been worse...We could have been 1 nil down as opposed to 1 nil up!!! YNWA.
Will keep you posted. Gettin a brief but cause its not "serious enough" for legal aid me and my mate have to fit the bill to the tune of £500 each! Something tells me the family are getting home made Christmas presents this year!!
Just unfortunate mate. You've come across a proper jobsworth steward. Nothing was stopping him telling you to get back to the bar area and finish your ale off - which is exactly what happened when the second half kicked off and some lad by us brought a bottle out. And I've seen that happen loads of times in the past. What colour coat did the steward have on?
Anyway. Back to the topic. Who gives a F**k what the mancs are saying? Nothing changes with the majority of them. Fair play to the ones who were admiring 'Liverpool's number 9', but the whole world knows this anyway.
Simple fact is, we won the game fair and square. 2-0. We were the better team on the day and there's no hiding from that. And the reason why I can say that with such confidence is because there was only a spell of about 10-15 minutes in the latter stages of the second half where my nerves were a bit unstable.
The rest of the game, I don't think we had anything to worry about. The same can't be said for the mancs midfield and defence.
Try to kick us while we're down and you'll be on the end of a beating.
As for Keith's comments about the ref, well that's a matter of opinion. I thought the ref got both sending off's spot on. I also thought he was pretty consistent with the fouls he awarded although in the latter stages of the second half, it was looking like it was favouring the mancs a bit.
But on the whole, I thought he done a good job of reffing one of the worlds most intense fixtures. Even though he did have Fergie down his ear at half time, plus the manc players after the half time whistle.
The very good football from the reds and the two goals to get the win is what matters though. Nobody can argue with that.
