Need to win this game. If we want any chance of continuing are run in the Champs League this is a must win. Doesn't look like the Prem is for us this season on current form but ofcourse its not over until the fat lady sings. Come on Red men! Lets beat these baguette bashers!

I dunno. Last time I made a thread like this it got closed down.

Don't really fancy us to beat Lyon to be honest they have a great home record and when you see the way they completely outplayed us at Anfield it doesn't fill me with confidence. Like then we are still playing sh'te.

Hopefully we get some decent news and some of our key players are back from illness and injuries.

Back to the game. 

For me the Champions League is a huge distraction.  I think Benitez is under huge pressure from above about this competition.  In an ideal world I would have liked us to have nailed Sunderland and Fulham and to have enabled some leeway on this.

I highly doubt we will win the Champions League this year but I think getting a result is more important for morale more than anything else.

But with our heavily injured squad I am not at all confident.  If we had our first XI out, or something resembling a first XI then we would probably turn them over.  But it doesn't look like we will.

We need a full strength squad now for the match, can't deal with more misfits in the side.

Oh christ, not looking forward to this, its a no win situation really, lose its all over, draw we are relying on others, win and we keep our head above the water a bit longer.

Our group now looks far tougher than it did when the draw came out.

My prediction 2-2.

Will be watching this with 3 mancs and a misguided celtic fan (who loves united!) if we lose, its gonna be unbearable.

I seem to remember us going to France in thesame position in the Stade Velodrome and coming away with a result so lets be positive and lookforward to a good performance and a win.

I think I read somewhere, maybe on, here, that anyone missing yesterday apart from Stevie all had the same virus as Aqualaini. Hope thats incorrect as they would struggle to be right for Wednesday

Speaking of which I feel we need to just go for it Wednesday no matter what 11 start. Throw tactics out the window and just attack Lyon from the off get an early goal and settle into whatever tactics we want from there.

Would a point mean we're out?
