      Windows 7 any good?
      Nov 03, 2009 03:43:48 am
I'm still using windows XP. I'm thinking of upgrading to Windows 7. Has anyone tried it? If anyone has, what are the advantages of upgrading from xp to windows 7. I value each opinion...

Yep. I'd like to know as well.

I'm sick of all these adverts saying 'I created Windows 7'.

Bet they don't get paid as well as Bill Gates though. ;)

I have a new desktop with windows 7 since yesterday, and I love it so far, but that might be cause my old comp was sh*t. It's hard to judge whether windows 7 is fast for me, since my new comp is a quad core, so it's bound to be fast :P But compared to Vista it does seem more logical and more basic while still looking better. I'm really enjoying the task bar so far, I'll try to explain.

For example, when I have 3 windows in Firefox(or any other program group), and I put the cursor on on the Firefox logo:

Then when I move over one of those 3 then the complete window shows up, and the others are see through, fluidly, when moving over them all they just change into the other:

Windows 7 is all very fluid actually and feels clean and refined. My old computer had XP, but I'm VERY happy with windows 7 so far. I haven't yet encountered an unpleasant thing. But there aren't many big fancy things, it's the little things. Even WMP could rightaway play my downloaded video files, without asking for codecs. Only have used it a few hours so far though.

Check out this video on the taskbar thing: http://www.viddler.com/explore/engadget/videos/519/5.005

You've all heard of the BLACK screen of death, well now the introduction of Win7, we now have the GREEN screen of death..
But it was all down to cybershits.

I got Windows 7 a few days ago, but decided to explore it properly before posting in here.

In all honesty, and as much as I would have liked to find a flaw in it (I'm fairly biased towards the Mac OS'), I can't find anything wrong with it.
