      188BET SIGNS WITH REDS

Liverpool Football Club is delighted to announce it has agreed a deal for 188BET to become the official betting partner of the club.

188BET, the leading online gaming and entertainment company, has signed a three-year deal with immediate effect and will work with Liverpool Football Club on a number of major initiatives to take the 188BET brand to the club's extensive global fan base, especially in key markets such as South East Asia.

Ian Ayre, Commercial Director of Liverpool Football Club, said: "We are delighted to welcome 188BET to our family of partners. Their innovative approach to betting will enhance the fan experience, in addition to benefiting good causes through the 188 Foundation.

"Given 188BET's presence in Asia, we will develop a number of initiatives that will mutually benefit our respective organisations. 188BET has made a clear commitment to marketing their brand through football, and we are looking forward to developing a successful partnership."

Andy Scott, CEO of 188BET, added: "Liverpool Football Club is a fantastic addition to our valuable stable of partnerships with Premier League football clubs. The strong heritage of the club coupled with its passionate and loyal global fan-base will allow us to reach a broad international audience.

"Liverpool Football Club is one of the world's most recognised football clubs, and the combination of their glittering history, worldwide fan base, and exciting plans for the future, means this is a great partnership opportunity for 188BET."

Today's news follows the announcement last month that Liverpool FC has agreed a four-year deal, starting in July 2010, for Standard Chartered Bank to become the club's main sponsor - the largest commercial agreement in Liverpool's history.

Mr Purslow been busy again. He is surely the only positive to come out of the Yanks taking over, aside from the signing of Torres of course.
I wonder if this deal involves any immediate cash injection?

Just a reminder that Liverpool pulled the plug on a deal with Paddy Power earlier this season.

This deal will probably result in minimal cash up front and Liverpool will seek to make money by encouraging fans to register with the betting firm.

Good stuff this. Hopefully to add more money into the club's transfer coffers and not the 2 pricks pockets.

Purslow, honestly, looks much faster moving than Rick.

Before you all get down at the knees of part-time Purslow, read the article.

Liverpool's commercial manager is Ian Ayre who admittedly is doing a fairly decent job for the club.  It can't be easy selling Liverpool as a brand with the fans desire to get the owners out in the background of his everyday work.

First we've secured a bank as our shirt sponsors, now a deal with a betting company.

Pretty much sums up our situation; "Owners take bank loans and gambles with football club"

why has it took so long for deals like this to be done, everything at this club works at a snails pace lagging behind  Man utd by about a decade in terms of commercalism and marketing lets hope Purselow/Ayre are the men to bring us up to date like a big club on and off the pitch.

They will probably just be advertising LFC related offers on our offal like Paddy Power did.

Fingers crossed it adds even a couple of million to the transfer kitty. Heres to being hopeful.

Massive cash boost for struggling Liverpool FC

Liverpool, the English soccer club which signed a record shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered earlier this year, has agreed another lucrative partnership.

The club will be backed by 188Bet, the online betting company which already has partnerships in place with Aston Villa, Chelsea, Bolton and Wigan. The partnership will last for three years, and is expected to earn the club as much as US$7.5 million.

"We are delighted to welcome 188Bet to our family of partners. Their innovative approach to betting will enhance the fan experience, in addition to benefiting good causes through the 188 Foundation," said Ian Ayre, commercial director of Liverpool Football Club.

"Given 188Bet's presence in Asia, we will develop a number of initiatives that will mutually benefit our respective organisations. 188Bet has made a clear commitment to marketing their brand through football, and we are looking forward to developing a successful partnership," he added.

Up to $7.5m what's that, about £4.5 million quid?

      £1.5m a year then? That's hardly a "massive cash boost" - it won't even cover H & G's expenses FFS!

This was announced by the club yesterday but obviously no figures were mentioned.

Hopefully Ayre is working on a few more. Possibly a big one.

it all helps, there are overheads that need covering month in month out plus if we line up several smaller ones if one or two pull out it wont hurt as much as a biggy going. simple business risk management

Look at it fortuiosly, if we can get ourselves several of these smaller deals they may be able to make up the repayments on the loans :), therefore the Standard Chartered monies may get pumped into the transfer budget, I'll not hold my breath how ever the management are selling the club commercially which has always been an area where we have trailed Man UTD, just remember success off the pitch can lead to success on it.
