      188BET SIGNS WITH REDS

Liverpool Football Club is delighted to announce it has agreed a deal for 188BET to become the official betting partner of the club.

188BET, the leading online gaming and entertainment company, has signed a three-year deal with immediate effect and will work with Liverpool Football Club on a number of major initiatives to take the 188BET brand to the club's extensive global fan base, especially in key markets such as South East Asia.

Ian Ayre, Commercial Director of Liverpool Football Club, said: "We are delighted to welcome 188BET to our family of partners. Their innovative approach to betting will enhance the fan experience, in addition to benefiting good causes through the 188 Foundation.

"Given 188BET's presence in Asia, we will develop a number of initiatives that will mutually benefit our respective organisations. 188BET has made a clear commitment to marketing their brand through football, and we are looking forward to developing a successful partnership."

Andy Scott, CEO of 188BET, added: "Liverpool Football Club is a fantastic addition to our valuable stable of partnerships with Premier League football clubs. The strong heritage of the club coupled with its passionate and loyal global fan-base will allow us to reach a broad international audience.

"Liverpool Football Club is one of the world's most recognised football clubs, and the combination of their glittering history, worldwide fan base, and exciting plans for the future, means this is a great partnership opportunity for 188BET."

Today's news follows the announcement last month that Liverpool FC has agreed a four-year deal, starting in July 2010, for Standard Chartered Bank to become the club's main sponsor - the largest commercial agreement in Liverpool's history.

Mr Purslow been busy again. He is surely the only positive to come out of the Yanks taking over, aside from the signing of Torres of course.
I wonder if this deal involves any immediate cash injection?

Just a reminder that Liverpool pulled the plug on a deal with Paddy Power earlier this season.

This deal will probably result in minimal cash up front and Liverpool will seek to make money by encouraging fans to register with the betting firm.

Good stuff this. Hopefully to add more money into the club's transfer coffers and not the 2 pricks pockets.

Purslow, honestly, looks much faster moving than Rick.

Before you all get down at the knees of part-time Purslow, read the article.

Liverpool's commercial manager is Ian Ayre who admittedly is doing a fairly decent job for the club.  It can't be easy selling Liverpool as a brand with the fans desire to get the owners out in the background of his everyday work.

First we've secured a bank as our shirt sponsors, now a deal with a betting company.

why has it took so long for deals like this to be done, everything at this club works at a snails pace lagging behind  Man utd by about a decade in terms of commercalism and marketing lets hope Purselow/Ayre are the men to bring us up to date like a big club on and off the pitch.

They will probably just be advertising LFC related offers on our offal like Paddy Power did.

Fingers crossed it adds even a couple of million to the transfer kitty. Heres to being hopeful.

Massive cash boost for struggling Liverpool FC

Liverpool, the English soccer club which signed a record shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered earlier this year, has agreed another lucrative partnership.

The club will be backed by 188Bet, the online betting company which already has partnerships in place with Aston Villa, Chelsea, Bolton and Wigan. The partnership will last for three years, and is expected to earn the club as much as US$7.5 million.

"We are delighted to welcome 188Bet to our family of partners. Their innovative approach to betting will enhance the fan experience, in addition to benefiting good causes through the 188 Foundation," said Ian Ayre, commercial director of Liverpool Football Club.

"Given 188Bet's presence in Asia, we will develop a number of initiatives that will mutually benefit our respective organisations. 188Bet has made a clear commitment to marketing their brand through football, and we are looking forward to developing a successful partnership," he added.

Up to $7.5m what's that, about £4.5 million quid?

      £1.5m a year then? That's hardly a "massive cash boost" - it won't even cover H & G's expenses FFS!

Look at it fortuiosly, if we can get ourselves several of these smaller deals they may be able to make up the repayments on the loans :), therefore the Standard Chartered monies may get pumped into the transfer budget, I'll not hold my breath how ever the management are selling the club commercially which has always been an area where we have trailed Man UTD, just remember success off the pitch can lead to success on it.

When I read the headline I was expecting to see a 60 or 70 mill boost for rafa, and although all the little things together can make up enough for a decent player it's not really massive, is it. All contributions wellcome, as long as G & H don't take it for expenses, Rafa will benefit.

US$7.5 million over 3 years is hardly massive when we have 20M at risk here if we fail to qualify for the knockout stages of the CL.

Based on some of the moronic comments on here I think the club should just cancel this deal and send the money back as it clearly doesn't satisfy some of our fans.

Then maybe we should close the club shop because it doesn't generate 100 million per year.

Stop selling food and beverages at the ground too, yeah? After all, it can only possibly generate a few hundred thousand a year so what is the point, eh?

While we are at it, why not stop charging for match tickets, it only brings in a few mill?

OK, OK....I apologise for the heavy sarcasm but...seriously...some people on here just want to bi*ch and moan even when we get GOOD news. What is wrong with you?

I'll say this.  Its a step in the right direction.  Leaving that to one side, what we REALLY want is for Hicks and Gillett to give our club the proper money we are due to pick up some quality players.

Unfortunately for us these sponsorship deals aren't enough to get what the club really needs.  Depth on the bench.  Prospects like David Villa, etc. etc.

'expected' to bring in £4.5M over three years.

Seeing as we pay £1M in interest every 9 days - I reckon this 3 year deal will pay our interest for about 5 and half weeks.

      It's an N'Gog every year! ;)

I don't think anyone is spitting on the money, we're all aware that we can do with all the help from sponsorship deals we can get (though I'd steer clear of renting out the stadium name :P).

We're moving in the right direction, I think it's just the title of the article that's (correctly IMO) pissing everyone off. It's hardly a massive cash injection compared to the level of our debt or interest payments, now, is it?

OK so it isn't a massive cash injection but in all fairness they're not a shirt sponsor or anything, they're just a betting partner. It's extra money that we wern't getting before. For too long this club has been behind the likes of United commercially and it is about time we got our act together. Can't believe we didn't have a commercial director appointed up until fairly recently, the appointment of Ian Ayre is probably the only good thing to have happened at boardroom level since the yanks took over.

It's not moronic. Your sarcasm was moronic. When you see a headline saying massive cash boost, and then see just 4.5 million then in this day and age, it is not much really.

Every little bit helps though, but we will see none of this. Straight into payments.

When it comes to financial news, it's hard to see the positives because of them two lying beauts.

Hate them for making us so pessimistic.

As Ayrton said, it's an Ngog a year. ;) It would be nice to actually see the money mind.

There's nothing else on the table mate, even when something apparently positive transpires there's always a hidden agenda, the owners inspire cynicism.
