Was just able to knock out 3 miles in less than 24 minutes...getting back into a little bit of fitness after about a year fighting a meniscus tear in my right knee. Getting old sucks folks...there's no bones about it, so if you can avoid it without dying...go for it.

My biggest problem is I've still got the active mind I had when I was in my 20's...I think I can do anything I want, try any sport, lift any weight, whatever it may be physically, my mind is still very willing, but the body needs some coaxing most days.

Watched my oldest (15) head off to camp for a couple days this morning. Saddens me a bit at how quick they grow up. Love that kid to bits and I know in a few years, he'll be out of the house and doing his own thing. As much as I want to prepare him to face life without my help...I don't really want it to happen either.

Ok..that got a bit too deep. Carry on :D

Just put our newly adopted 8 week old [Labrador] puppy down 'to sleep' [let's see]. Apparently he should sleep half the day, not seeing that. Peeing half the day, yes. Not eating huge amount of the pup nuts either. Still getting used to the place I guess, this is just his 4th day, so hopefully he settles down. Put some flea fluid on back of his neck couple of days back cause he was scratching like mad after coming back from the sanctuary, and least that doesn't seem to be bothering him anymore.
Got a big cage from the neighbours, so there is his bed in there, and some space to wee on a pee pad [didn't know what a pee pad was till the other day]. He sh*t all over the place in the cage last night, tried to get him to go before going to bed myself.
Not far off having a new baby. I'm off shift today and Mon, which is good though. I never had a dog before, we never had them as kids, so kinda new to it.
Haven't been thinking about the footy at all really, the time needed to take care of him is a LOT more than I thought.
But he's a great wee lad, all that said :)

peeing & shitting around the house is all part & parcel of owning a pup mate, (some advice though for when you get up in the mornings & go downstairs  make sure you put on some footwear ) as you say  he is just getting used to his new surroundings & settling in,it'll take time ,patience & effort but the rewards of owning a dog are limitless & you chose a great breed of dog to start off with.
