As part of an improved 'Media Watch' offering on the club's official website, we'll be keeping a daily eye on the press and internet rumours to make sure you're always in the know when it comes to players being linked with your club.
 
Of course, most of the deals speculated on in the press come to nothing and only the management at Anfield will know for sure which, if any, players they will be targeting in January.

It's probably to bring a bit of optimism to the place, give people a little hope by publishing a few rumours because they know sure as F**k this coming transfer window will be bleak.

Not only that, they tell us they're trying to keep us in the know, but then go on to admit none of it comes to anything most of the time (because it's made up speculation!).

A waste of time, and as CRK says, a pisstake.

Sad to see the official site becoming about as comical as some of the sites we have banned in the transfer board for spouting sh*te.

.tv are definitely taking the piss with this. They've stooped pretty low and i get the impression they're just trying to make cu*ts out of us (their own fans) by getting a dig in at 'speculation' on sites like ours.

Madness. It's been the main story on the offal at some point in the day for the last three days or so.

Noticed other teams have had stuff like that on their sites before but never ours.

Were we really annoyed at this? What more do you expect from the official website? Especially since the owners have been about.

You don't get a peep out of them when there's serious issues that need addressing. So it's no surprise they are happy to fan the flames of gossip. Or try to be 'in with the kids'.
